Worst season so far

I love Elite but unfortunately Season 4 is a mess.

No real drama here. New characters - not strong enough. And most importantly - not likable enough. Absolutely chaotic plot.

A disappointment.

Warning: Spoilers
Elite S1-S3 are greattt, but this season... I'm disappointed. The character development of Guzman is nowhere to be found, the friendship of Samuel and Guzman is annoying in this season, the relationship of Nadia and Guzman turned to dust. Cayetana is the only character who had a big development in this season. Almost everything that they build up from S1-S3 are gone, it's disappointing. This season is just full of lust, love triangles, and fights/arguments. This episode/season is still good for some reason. I miss the old cast of Elite, I felt no affection to the new cast except Mencia. So, I rated the series 7/10 from S1-S4, but this episode and S4 it's a 6/10 for me. Hoping it get better in S5!

Not what it used to be

Warning: Spoilers
Elite used to be about mystery and drama. This season has a lot of side stories but the mystery just wasn't exciting enough. The new characters sadly couldn't match the standards set by the one's they replaced.

The first three seasons were amazing because everyone cared about the characters that were the focal point of the mystery. For me, Ari's character didn't really make such an impact. I liked the side story of Mencia and how it got connected to the mystery but the rest of it was repetitive and sometimes boring.

I hope the next season will be much better and would keep us on the edge of our seats unlike this season.

Finally! After 7 1/4 episodes, a plot develops. Is it enough to safe the season? no.
markfranh12 July 2021
Well it took long enough.

20 minutes into the 8th and final episode of season 4 and we have a plot. Does it justify having to wade through the first 7 episodes of the year? No, it does not. I'm afraid the mystery behind how Ari ended up nearly drowning the lake just hasn't been enough.

The eternal question: "was she pushed or did she jump?" to put it one way. Well at least in true Elite fashion from earlier seasons, the answer comes with a twist (which I won't reveal as I don't want to give away a spoiler ... not that there can be a spoiler when the writers have already spoiled the entire season).

This entire series has been about triangles. But do the romantic triangles have anything to do with the plot? Let's have a look.

First we have the Ari, Guzman, Samuel triangle. Is it related to the plot? Well as the only decent plot is Ari in the lake then obviously it does.

Secondly, we have the Mencia, Rebe, Armando triangle and, yes, it is related to the plot given Mencia is Ari's sister and also Rebe has a role here as well.

Next we have the tedious, interminable, boring, Patrick, Omar, Ander triangle. Related? Not really. It was all just tedious, interminable and boring.

Finally we have the Phillipe and Cayetana triangle. Hang on. A triangle with two sides? In this case the triangle really is completed by Phillipe's mysterious past which ends up being represented by his mother in the last couple of episodes. But is it related to the plot? In that Phillipe and his mother host the New Year's bash where Ari ends up in the lake, yes, but otherwise, a categorical no.

All in all, a wasted 7 episodes only serving to set up the likely departure of two of the lead characters in a closing scene as we head into next year with just the faintest possibility of a follow-up to the true story behind Ari's near drowning if that's where the writers take it.

I really wanted to like this season 4 but I didn't and me sad /pissed on the writter

Warning: Spoilers
Don't think I've ever been so disappointed with a show. I was really looking

forward to this season because I think there was so much potential for them to introduce a new storyline, but as the season went on i started realizing that I really didn't enjoy the episodes. I didn't care about any of the new characters, didn't care about any storyline and I hated what they were doing to some of the established characters and relationships. I despised Ari going crazy about her. She was supposed to be a replacement for Lu and Carla,

but the actress just wasn't able to give the same performance as Danna or Ester

did. I didn't really care for her Patrick and Mencia either tbh. Especially Patrick,

who was literally going after a guy in a relationship. So icky.

Guzman was one of my favourites during the first three seasons, but they completely butchered his character and his relationship with Nadia. He was unnecessarily rude to Samuel about Arl, even when Samuel did nothing wrong. Andro then later on claim that Samuel was one of this best friends'? That's not how ou treat friends! Also, the Guzman from 81-3 would never give up on his relat with Nadia that easily. He fought for so many seasons to be with her and were other th ed her immediately from br r as soon as a new girl caught his seye I know there and Nadia acted a bit weird as well, but still. He went with Nadia to asking Ari out! Also if the writers knew Guzman was leaving her S4, why not give him a non-romantic storyline so he can get together with Nadia in NYC at the end of the season? It wouldn't have been that hard.

Same with Ander. His and Omar's relationship clearly become a bit toxic in season 3 but it seemed like they were in a good place at the end of that season. And I would have been fine if they had eventually realized in a more healthy way that they were not meant to be and broke up. But to then have Ander dump Omar so he can sleep around? Such a weird choice. And then they got back together at the end but gave each other permission to sleep around? I mean, that's not a bad thing, but it clearly led to a lot of unnecessary drama with them It in the past so it doesn't seem like they will last either.

The only storyline I was a bit interested in was Cayetana and Phillipe, but then

he ended up being a rapist. I mean, I guess that's a realistic storyline, but it seemed to come out of nowhere. As did the doubts Caye suddenly had about him. There were some hints, but they weren't clear enough IMO. Rebe and Mencia were also cute, and I was glad to finally see a more central lesbian couple, but that relationship was almost fully about Mencia. Poor Rebe was once again a supporting character in her own storyline. The character deserves a lot better. So yeah. I'm kinda sad I didn't like the season, because I really, REALLY wanted to,

Does it bother anyone else how Lu is just forgotten?

Like she was such a big part of the show and she brought the drama and the cattines while still managing to be a complex chracther,so to have in season 4 not even mention her just bothers mejts almost like her impact on the show is minimazed and like she was not important to the show, its not a big deal its just something that kinds bothered me

Elite is one of my favourite teen dramas and I think S1-3 were almost perfect, even though S3 obviously had a lot of flaws. But this season? Really didn't like it. There were very few things I did like and that just makes me sad. I will still check out season 5 probably, even without Guzman and Ander, but I already know that for future rewatches I'll just pretend the show ended at S3.

This episode was meant to tie things together and it ended up blowing up all the other S4 episodes

Warning: Spoilers
Aside from all the relationship drama and introducing the new characters and all that entails you have what was supposed to be the central storyline: Ari is assaulted/ murdered whatever.

They spent almost zero time on that aside from doing some flash forwards(?) to show what was coming. Then E7 comes along and you realize there was zero reason for the cops to arrest Samu or even suspect Guzman. A hundred people saw them fighting inside while Ari was being assaulted. Not to mention Mencia and Rebe saw Armando down on the dock also. They would have told that to the cops. They sold look for Armando.

The central plot was weak. The resolution was even weaker. This season was just messy. I hope they pull it back together for S5. Still good TV, but focus on a good story.

michaelnguyen-3068330 June 2021
To be honest this was the worst season 4 i ever watched, out of all season 1,2, and 3 because those are really good but this one i didn't like it as much but i like the character and this show focus on to much on romantic and little crime scene each episode and its not fun like it use to be so by far this is the worst season.
