Singer-songwriter Miley Cyrus got into the Christmas spirit a few days early with a festive set of Instagram photos featuring her posing in front of a tree with mom Tish Cyrus-Purcell and longtime pal Lesley (Patterson) Edmonds.
The ‘Flowers’ singer, 31, shared the pictures on Friday (Pacific Standard Time) with a cheeky caption that referenced the famous lyrics of her 2009 hit ‘Party in the U.S.A.’, reports People magazine.
She wrote: “It’s definitely a Nashville party.” In one photo, Cyrus held up a fist as she posed in front of a decorated tree wearing a reindeer headband and a long-sleeved top featuring a sleigh and reindeer. In a second shot, she goofed off with mom Tish.”
In the third shot, the star shared a hug with Edmonds, who famously got a shoutout in Cyrus’s 2007 hit ‘See You Again’ with the lyrics: “My best friend Lesley said, ‘Oh she...

Returning to hip-hop’s birthplace, classic rappers who pioneered the sound — as well as those who have proudly carried the rap torch — joined forces to honor the genre’s 50th birthday and celebrate its historic and global impact on pop culture.
It was only fitting that a venue as iconic as Bronx’s Yankee Stadium became the home for the eight-hour celebration, which included three dozen performers and nearly 50,000 audience members.
The universal love for rap was at the center of the night, and rappers like Nas and Snoop Dogg owned the night while also honoring those who came before them.
During his set, Nas brought out hip-hop founding father DJ Kool Herc and told the crowd: “This is our love. This is our bloodline.” Herc, 68, earned a standing ovation and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year. Kool G Rap also appeared onstage alongside Nas,...

The Amazon Prime Video series “The Summer I Turned Pretty” has made a splash with its loaded soundtrack. By now it is safe to say that “The Summer I Turned Pretty” and Taylor Swift go hand in hand because author and show creator Jenny Han has made it so.
The first season had five Swift songs ranging from her “Lover” album to “Fearless (Taylor’s Version),” and the Season 1 trailer debuted “This Love (Taylor’s Version)” from the yet-to-be-released re-recorded “1989.” Season 2’s teaser was set to “August,” and then the official trailer debuted “Back to December (Taylor’s Version)” shortly before “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)” was released July 7. Only time will tell if Season 2 ties Season 1 for how many Taylor Swift songs it contains.
The sequel season’s summer-y soundtrack also contains hits from repeat artists Olivia Rodrigo, Tyler the Creator, Caroline Polachek and more. A Fleetwood Mac ballad punctuates a particularly emotional scene,...

“I wrote the song in the middle of the act, maybe I should have focused on the act a little bit more, but the melody just kind of popped into my head and I actually had stopped and recorded a little quick voice note and then had to get back into the act,” Puth recounted to the publication.
“But that’s where that melody came from. I was getting over somebody and what better way [to do that] than meet new people? It probably wasn’t going to work out with this person and that was what I was energetically picking up, which is okay.

When it comes to movie soundtracks, the Fast & Furious franchise excels. Over 22 years and 10 movies, the franchise has produced countless musical hits tied to its films. From classics like "2 Fast 2 Furious"'s "Act a Fool" by Ludacris and "Fast & Furious"'s "Blanco" by Pitbull and Pharrell to the more emotional offerings like "See You Again" by Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth from "Furious 7," there's a Fast & Furious franchise hit for fans of any musical genre.
The franchise added another standout track to its roster with the May 18 release of "Angel Pt. 1." The song featured a lineup of musical artists from all different corners of the music industry: Nle Choppa, Kodak Black, BTS's Jimin, Jvke, and Muni Long. The music video featured high-octane clips from "Fast X" interspersed with the artists performing their verses passionately.

This post contains spoilers for "Fast X."
The "Fast & Furious" franchise has given fans and music lovers alike some genuine bangers over the years, from Ludacris' "Act A Fool" way back in 2003 to the "Gasolina" remix in the newest flick. Plus, of course, there's the multi-platinum tribute to Paul Walker — Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth's catchy and heartfelt "See You Again." While the films' soundtracks have always garnered the most attention upon the release of each new installment, the musical scores that help shape the action and drama are equally as deserving of kudos — especially when composer Brian Tyler, who's been involved with the franchise since "The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift," is involved.
Variety recently spoke with Tyler about his score for the new film, and the composer shared insights into the process of crafting a theme for one of the franchise's boldest characters: Jason Momoa's Dante.

It's hard to believe that the "Fast and Furious" franchise began back in 2001 with a story centered around a criminal ring stealing electronics. In the two decades since then, the multi-billion dollar film series has turned into a global heist machine with technology that's way more advanced than a DVD player. Hell, "F9: The Fast Saga" managed to send two of the franchise's longtime characters into space. How the hell did we get here?
The answer is "Fast Five," a sequel that reinvigorated the franchise with the best action that the entire series had seen up until that point and the badass attitude and beefy brawn of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. After the film's massive blockbuster success, and adding a boost to franchises like "The Mummy" and "G.I. Joe," many referred to Johnson as "franchise Viagra," so much that there was an entire "Saturday Night Live" monologue dedicated to the perceived phenomenon.

Meadow Walker, the daughter of the late Paul Walker, has yet to appear in any of the Fast and the Furious movie…until now. As revealed recently, Meadow Walker makes a cameo in the tenth installment of the franchise. Now, the 24-year-old model is explaining why it was finally time to join the family.
Speaking with Entertainment Tonight at the premiere of Fast X, Meadow Walker said this installment was the opportune time for her to honor her late father on the big screen and why her cameo’s subtlety is what makes it so special. “For me, I’ve always thought about honoring my dad, and this was such a big part of his life, and my life, of course. Incredibly, "The Fast and the Furious" came out 22 years ago and has gone on to spawn multiple sequels that will finally come to an end with "Fast X" and the recently announced "Fast and the Furious 11," both directed by Louis Leterrier. Future spin-offs are always a possibility, but for now, the increasingly complex storyline involving Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel), Letty Ortiz (Michelle Rodriguez), and the rest of their death-defying familia has reached the finish line.
Judging from the trailer for "Fast X," the latest entry is revisiting and reinventing some of the massive action set pieces from the previous films. The new blockbuster will also connect back to the events of "Fast Five," introducing Dante Reyes (Jason Momoa) as the main villain who's seeking revenge for the death of his father, Herman Reyes (Joaquim De Almeida). What a moment to be a Miley Cyrus fan. “Flowers” is more than just a surprise comeback hit — it’s the triumph of Mileyism. It’s been 10 years since her last Number One hit, “Wrecking Ball,” at the height of her tabloid-scandal, electro-sleaze Bangerz era. But now she has finally transformed into the kind of old-school grown-up legend she’s always wanted to be. “Flowers,” the lead single from Friday’s Saturn-return post-divorce album Endless Summer Vacation, marks the culmination of her unlikely journey from Hannah Montana to world-wise adulthood.

What started as a singing competition special featuring Wiz Khalifa and Bebe Rexha that aired during NBA All-Star Weekend on TNT is now being shopped as a full-format series, Variety has learned.
From “The Biggest Loser” and “World of Dance” executive producer Alex Katz, co-founder of Anagram Studios, the special was titled “The Sum” and though it prominently featured Wiz Khalifa and Rexha, they weren’t the competitors. Their fans, singing along to their hit songs, were the real players.
Per “The Sum’s” description, “‘The Sum’ is an original concept based on the best part of any concert — fans singing along with the artists, also known as ‘the common chorus effect.’ In ‘The Sum,’ fans share the spotlight with their favorite music stars by performing a song together.”
Following the success and positive response from both the talent and the fans, Anagram is now shopping the series around to networks.

They include Golden Globe and Critics Choice Award winner “Naatu Naatu” from “Rrr” (M.M. Keeravani and Chandrabose), plus “Hold My Hand” from “Top Gun: Maverick”, “Lift Me Up” from “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”, and “Ciao Papa” from “Guillermo Del Toro’s Pinocchio”. That leaves at least one spot potentially open for a surprise nominee. When predicting the song category, it is best to keep in mind that the music branch clearly has their favorites, and that usually tends to fill up a couple uncertain slots. This year, two of those songwriters may have a better shot at another Oscar nomination than most people think: perennial nominees Diane Warren for “Applause” from “Tell It Like A Woman,” and J. Ralph for “Dust & Ash” from the documentary...
