While this episode stars a baby Loggerhead turtle, this really is a plot device used to show all the sorts of tiny creatures floating in the upper and, later, lower layers of the ocean. So, you'll see various jellyfish, seaweed, plankton and small fish while the tiny turtle makes its way deeper into the ocean.

This is a decent installment of National Geographic, though for me, it wasn't the sort of thing I loved seeing. I personally prefer lions, bears and cute little mammals. But if you love seeing microscopic and nearly microscopic sea life, this show is for you. It's well written and like many installments, is narrated by Keith David.

This documentary is about the many animals that use the ocean currents for travelling around the globe. We see different animals: we begin with a turtle as we follow her since she goes to the ocean and she has to hide in the sargassum weed from sharks or other large fish. There are some dwellers in the sargassum weed as well such as seahorses or file fish that try to snatch the small invertebrates that end there from time to time. Then we focus on the real ocean drifters: all the invertrebates that live in the abyss such as squids and jellyfish that use bioluminescence for making them being visible and also for catching preys. After the abyss, we then go again to the surface for seeing other small ocean dwellers such as swimming crustaceans, underwater snails and jellyfish with string-like tentacles. We have also some shots of the underwater research team in their small submarines.

The cinematography is very good for 1993 and Keith David does as always a great job as the narrator. But what really got me was the soundtrack which was more than great... it was SPELLBINDING! And I also loved the fact that towards the very end it discussed the issue of the garbage travelling across the ocean (which is an actual issue as well). Not to be missed for National Geographic fans and nature fans alike.
