With Larry's prints on the knife that killed Thomas Quayle, and him having found the body he is interviewed by DI Hyde. Suspicions as to the involvement of Clare Seldon, who was in Quayle's shop at the time of his death, and when she and an antagonistic associate try to get the key off Larry, he is convinced of her involvement in Philip's death. Philip and his secretary Ruth head to the night club Philip had previously invited him to, there they see the couple in the photograph that seems to be popping up everywhere.
Part three down, and I have to say it's been a pleasure to watch, I wish we still had this kind of deep and complex murder mystery on our screens. Denis Quilley continues to impress as the sad but determined Larry, and also Hugh Cross is coming into it more as DI Hyde. There is so much going on, it's so typical of a Francis Durbridge novel, half way through and you're left wondering who'd done it, why, and are they all guilty?
TV drama gold. 8/10
