- A film from children's perspective on their lives in our country, on us adults, the state of affairs, their utopia - unsharp beautiful, idealistic and radically honest. A film for children and adults.
- If childhood is a place, where would it be? Children take us on a trip into their inner landscapes. On their adventurous journey, they deal with topics such as friendship, belonging, love and the fear of not succeeding at school in an inspiring and intriguing way.
In our search for the essence and mystery of childhood, we found children who deeply touched us: Wisdom (11), a German boy with Cameroonian heritage, Joline (12) a girl, who never wants to grow up, Elias (14) who has been diagnosed with autism and Roya (12) who fled from Iran to Germany five years ago. We drew from the resources of "our" children on all levels: They wrote and performed their own music, contributed their pictorial ideas, drawings and stories as the initial position for the dramaturgy and image composition for the film.
Even though they are all very different, they have one thing in common: they do not fit into the framework of our function-driven society and wish for a place where they can stay as long as they want to and where no one can tell them what to do.
All the kids in the film were found by chance, but you need to really click with someone, when you wanna do this kind of longterm project together. Over the past three years Susanne Kim and the kids, who collaborated in the development of this film and VR project became basically "partners in crime".It was very much fun to take all this colorful, fantastic ideas, lyrics, moments and build this film together, like in a ping pong game in constant development.
