If you watched the earlier seasons of deadliest catch and are a fan of the Harris family this show will repeatedly hit you in the feels.

That said I think it also stands well on its feet as a fishing show. They explain this type of fishing very well and it's good entertainment.

I wish they have an soundtrack list, season 2 part 1 i like the song at the begin. I wish i could know how the songs called :)

So some of the reviews are going on about the scripted-ness ... and ya, pretty obvious... so take it is what it is and enjoy the scenery. For some reason ppl love junk scripted reality TV (like pretty much what "reality tv" is lol! And you are complaining about it!??? 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️) but I don't find this to be junk. Real people, real places, real jobs, so there's a script to try to keep things jiving with being a reality tv show... as a wife of a die hard Deadliest Catch fan (which is too intense for this Momma), I enjoy this show very much. Yeah, I laugh a little at the scriptedness but behind it I see the real people and I LOVE it. I hope they keep it going for a long time. Of course, I question the Gulf move, but then I love the different overall fishing cultural experience ... and also how similar it is. Very cool for those appreciate such things. 🙌. Super fan of all the "cast" members and the scenery of our USA and waters... and the hard working jobs they are putting out there for us consumers to appreciate anytime we have good fish at a high-quality restaurant - and it is enjoyable to watch... despite whatever scriptedness others dislike. Get over it, and see the bigger picture.

This show is very interesting. It's fun to watch Josh, And Casey search for some history about Phil and learn how different fishing in Hawaii is. Love the show. Addicted to this show!

As an avid follower of Deadliest Catch from the get go I was a little reluctant to watch this as I thought it was just a space filler so to speak. But to my surprise I found it great viewing, entertaining and the rapport between Josh And Casey a bit like a comedic duo. With the flashbacks to Phil on the Cornelia Marie it reminded me of days gone by. . I hope this is the first series of many a bit like Parkers Trail which I think is better than the actual Gold Rush.

Supposedly a story about mystery fishing map. However, the first episode visits a spot on the mystery map that is clearly a FAD (fish attracting device), which the exact GPS coordinates for could be found online by any fisho. Less of a mystery than another fishing show.

Interesting take on the Hawaiian side but but it's turning into a bad scripted tv show.the idea that they find a matchbox or a map and it leads them to the theft chapter in the story. I feel as if they are taking advantage of Phil Harris's legacy not honouring it.

Guys just catch tuna...less of the scripted drama...the brothers that found each other again the strip of matches with the numbers the bad acting..josh an Shane trying a heartfelt chat...those guys couldn't deliver a pizza...never mind a line..maby a fishing line but not a awful put together script...

Get out of the Gulf! Go back to Hawaii, or better still stay in Alaska. You guys are just looking for quick dollars and are exploiting the fish down here. Really sorry looking catch in most episodes.

Josh is a cry baby and VERY selfish. I mean. I really like the Deadliest Catch but not a big fan of the drama based story line of this one. It's still much better than all the other shows but yeah, I'll stick to the regular show.

Deadliest Catch is great to because off the drama with the weather, quotas, danger etc. This is just some guys fishing. Josh was lazy and not overly bright on the crab bost. And now he is even worse.

Why would I want to watch these Guys on a fishing trip?? I'll go on a fishing trip myself and watch myself. Apparently I need to add characters for this stupendous review to be like,you know, pass inspection. How do I know when I've got enough characters to.

Hmmm, every episode/season will start off with a quota to catch. As things progress, there will be break downs, injuries, yelling, frustration and drama, then towards the end, things will fall together, there will be upbeat music, laughter and success. Just like every episode of Deadliest Catch. Plus that egotistical Las Vegas cook, Barry Dakaka was a joke. I'm glad he's off the show.
