- Frankie: I feel good as long as I keep moving, keep going. They was just going to let me fade away in the old hospital bed. But I know I have to keep moving.
- Nephew: Hey bless the food guy.
- Marcus: Alright. Creator! Want you to bless this food! For the nourishment of our bodies! I thank you for putting it here for us!
- Nephew: Mvto. Mvto.
- [Thank you in Mvskoke]
- Marcus: The bacon from pig. Eggs from chicken! And for bread from... Jesus! Yeah, Jesus. Want you to watch over us as we're on that road. That road like that. And my brother, cvpon here, I want... want you to watch over him and help him not be so rugged!
- [cvpon is boy in Mvskoke language]
- Nephew: Mmm. Dang guy too much...
- Marcus: And watch over Uncle Frankie, that guy looks half dead right now!
- Nephew: It's alright though... mmm.
- Marcus: He can't help it he's just old. I guess that's the way it is. Just the way it's going to be when we get up there, me and cvpon. Amen.
- Frankie: You know I can tell you by looking at these pictures where my kids were. Should've been with me, but they weren't.
- Roger: So I'm gonna ask you guys something 'cause I wanna know. Do you have a plan for when the zombies attack?
- Irene: What?
- [laughing]
- Roger: The zombies, when the zombie attack happens. You have... you know you're hurting my feelings laughing at me 'cause I'm trying to give you, like, rock solid information. You're totally blowing me off, I can't believe this. Okay, laugh but you know, when the attack comes and you're calling me and 'Roger! Roger! Roger they're here,' you're gonna say 'good God he knew it'.
- Frankie: The most honest man I ever knew, you know who? My grandpa. Man never told a lie, I know of. The bell ring at the church, every time someone die, I'd walk with him down to church. He'd ring the bell as many times as they was old. No matter what time of night, he'd come wake me up. Call came to the neighbor, come tell us who it was, we'd walk on down to church. I never did ask him how he knew someone had died before the call came. It was magic. It's what I miss most about being young... magic.
- Elvis: Hey! What the hell is going on here? Some kind of voodoo shit? Listen I got a gun right over here at my house. It wouldn't take me three and a half minutes to go fetch it. You can't do voodoo on my land.
- [after Irene and Frankie stop in the woods]
- Frankie: It's not voodoo you jackass.
- Elvis: What you expect me to think, I look out here you crazy, waving stuff around, smoke?
- Elvis: I admire ya'll for what you have. Taking care of each other like that, you can tell that love's been there a long time. Before you were born even.
- Irene: We're not married. Wanna know why?
- Wendy: [looks at her uncomfortable boyfriend] Sure.
- Irene: He left me. I told my brothers that he roughed me up and that he threatened to kill me. They beat the hell out of him. But he never told 'em that I made it up. He never told anyone.
- Wendy: Oh you have a tape player!
- [changing the subject]
- Frankie: Oh yeah, yeah. You got any tapes?
- Frankie: 'Now we have been praying. Now we are going to dismiss. Give us your peace and dismiss us. This land we leave when we arrive at your place. Rest we want'.
- [Frankie remembering a tribal song from childhood]
- Frankie: You know I've been thinking, you came down on me pretty hard about how I live; my clutter. You know after you left me, for a couple months, you know I kept that place spotless. In case you decided to check in on me. Of course you never did. I still love you. Always have. Always will.
- [to Irene]
- Frankie: Seems so strange, you know I, I won't be feeling this rain anymore or feeling this wind. Always thought I'd go out in... go to sleep and never wake up. This going slow shit, slowly losing control. Yeah. I still got my mind. So weird, you know, I finally feel like I am figuring it out and damn I'm out the door. I think I'll go over and watch these kids play.
