As far as explaining what happened in the film goes, I really can't. Aside from having her car and beloved bottle of Chanel #5 stolen, much of the rest of the film makes little sense--but the journey there is interesting. The style of the film made this film worth seeing...even if I really can't describe what it was all about or why I kinda liked it. Strange.
CHASTINE is a short film that is made in sepia tones, with no dialog and a jazzy saxophone score---making it a very unique film. In addition, all the characters have heavy makeup and lipstick and the main character (Chastine) looks like a cross between a mime, a goth and Madonna circa 1984. Oh, and periodically throughout the film are cartoon clips--why, I don't know.
