Cosplay in the woods

I struggle to watch this series even though I dig the whole scene. The narration has this unnatural annunciation that drives me nuts.

The self appointed "leader" is on a power trip over the rest of the cast. Acts like he is running a military operation while he lords over everyone. When in reality, it's a glorified road trip. Just strikes me as a little try hard. Feels like a little cosplay exercise pretending that a vacation is a "mission" ... lol, get over it.

Basically a commercial rather than a show

They're sponsored by so many different things that this sounds more like an extended commercial than a documentary.

In addition, many people drive portions and/or all of the Pan-American Highway every year. Not to claim that it's an easy task, but the fact that you can watch multiple channels on YouTube of people performing and completing it solo on 250cc motorcycles makes this look like a glorified vacation road trip. Six people in a three vehicle caravan with equipment costing well into the six (if not seven) figures? Please.

The whole production is tremendously toot-your-own-horn tryhardiness.

The Privileged Get Sponsored on a Mansplained, Self Congratulatory Road-trip.

Take a trip within a trip to a 1950s sexist heteronormative militaristic role playing mission.

Watch people drive their trucks and camp, all with an enormous self seeking sense of grandeur. Get mansplanations on everything from tech to scenery to personal relationships. Watch how they pick up hitchhiking young French women and ask them to kiss a guy for a ride. Watch women cook for men. Listen to grown women getting called girls.

Watch all of it if you can make it through the ego infested narration style; where you are left after each episode with the feeling, that yes, white guys' dreams do come true.

The locations are obviously beautiful.
