This is a Bandoleros movie regarding outlaws in Andalucía who alone or in bands , engulfing the region with merciless assaults and ominous murders , while authorities carry out terrible punishments and bloody executions . Stars the bandit called La Llanera : the singer Bebe , after many years of imprisonment is pardoned along with his son Juan : Jason Fernández , and both of whom are freed . But his father , the Bandolero named Lizard or Lagartijo : Xavier Delve , to be aware and goes after them . Futhermore , another bandit , nicknamed Aceituno : Isak Ferriz agrees with the rigid governor : Luis Callejo to hunt them. In early XIX century Spain , there is no place for everyone , let alone for traitors.

This is a splendid series with noisy action , go riding , shootouts , chases , betrayal and violence . The picture is well set in the 19th Century , Andalucía , while proliferating ruthless bandits and vengeful governors . This is a traditional Bandits film with usual ingredients as duels , violent fights , treason , twisted incidents , eerie hangings and anything else . This is a strong and cruel adventure in which a mother and a son, abandoning the prison after many years , will try their best to enjoy their new freedom , despite being chased by gangs of bandits and the Governor's gunslingers . Dealing with a relentless and implacable manhunt on La Llanera , as Lizard , Aceituno and the Governor pursue her down , but simultaneously chase one another . Decent screenplay concerning vengeance , escapades , retribution and freedom.

Director Urbizu took advantage of the wonderful outdoors shot on location in Sierra Morena , and other Andalucían places, being stunningly photographed by cameraman Unax Mendia . As well as evocative and moving musical score by Mario De Benito. The series was competently directed by Enrique Urbizu , though slow-moving , at times . Urbizu is a fine writer, producer and director . An expert on thrillers and thought-provoking dramas, such as : Box 507 , No rest for the wicked , La Vida Mancha , Captain Alatriste and screenwriter of Roman Polanski's Ninth Gate . And previously directed for Movistar another important series : Gigantes .
