Short Stories
olcayozfirat27 February 2022
A movie with short horror stories in it. There are some very mediocre stories and beautiful ones. There are occasional comedy transitions. "exorcism" and "undead man" from the stories were not bad. Most stories end without an ending. A watchable movie. There is a lot of swearing and sexual talk.

Some original stories here
miss_toucan29 March 2022
As with all anthologies, there are good stories and there are bad ones. I felt this was a bit more unique than a lot of the more recent horror anthologies I've seen. The stories were mostly funny, quirky, and weird. It does have some really boring bits though but I'd still recommending watching it.

It's OK in parts
mjsreg20 November 2020
There are a couple of the stories that are quite interesting and amusing, but there are also some stupid ones. Also the way they are linked together becomes very annoying after the first one or two.

Overall, not great but not awful either. I wouldn't bother watching it again myself.

How many times are we going to watch The Cleansing Hour?
pftstkwwe19 November 2020
So this anthology starts off with the 3rd making of The Cleansing Hour. It was a short movie in 2016, a full movie in 2020 & now another short in this "new" horror anthology. It's tired, put it to bed.

Please don't make any more like this

Without a doubt, the worst film I've seen for a long while. Boring, disconnected, pretentious.

More proof reviewers take themselves to seriously.
berg-7453213 March 2021
The anthology is the most perfect form of horror movie. Other than one incredibly creative but heavy handed US Mexican border piece it was great, bloody but great. Only one segment was something I've seen before and one of the Spanish language stories was unique and hilarious. The 4.7 is ridiculous and the reviews that accompanied these low marks are replete with words like replete and are written by frustrated people with tiny lives who crap on things to make their sad little lives have meaning. I do the same thing but I try to stay positive. I don't think people want a point by point description of a movie if they did they wouldn't need to watch the movie. Good or bad is what you need to know and this is good.

What a mess
MikeHunt107518 November 2020
One of your typical anthology movies that tries to tie stories together and be clever, but instead turning out a confusing mess of garbage. Even if it replaced the boring host in between segments with The Crypt Keeper himself, it couldn't save this sinking ship.

It started off ok, but just nose dives before it's halfway through. A couple of the stories are ok, some have some decent visual FX and gore moments, but overall it falls flat on being anything memorable other than it tried to hard to have hidden messeges that try to be clever, but are just eye rolling bad.

Had it been edited better, and had 45 mins cut out of it, it would've made a decent Tales from the Crypt episode. Unfortunately what this actually is, is a decent 20 minute idea stetched out painfully with an extra hour of filler to get it to be released as a full length feature rather than the short TV episode it should've been.

Sweet and sour
kosmasp17 October 2021
Like with many short movie anthologies this has good and not so good entries. I reckon some might argue some weak entries actually. But overall I did like what I got served here. Some are a bit stranger than others too and I was a bit irritated by how certain segments were cut in. You don't seem to get a resolution ... or not one you may hope for with some shorts here.

Having said that, this is horror and it will be a matter of taste. One thing is for sure, there is enough blood and gore and it begins with a bang. Whatever you may think of the first story, it is more than well made and it hits all the right points. Same goes for the animated one ... so all in all a more than decent effort.

It wasn't bad, but it wasn't all that great either
Hex_0mega15 December 2020
First off, if you have already seen The Cleansing Hour about the priest who sets up fabricated exorcisms, which ends up biting him in the ass, you can just skip the first 20 minutes unless you'd like to see it again. It really good, but its been featured in multiple horror shortfilm anthologies in addition to having a feature length version as a result of the shortfilm being so well received. On a sidenote, if you haven't seen that feature length version of it, give that a watch too.

As for Asylum, it wasn't mind numbingly dumb but it also wasn't remarkable by any means. Although I'm not really fond of slashers and I'm more prone to creature features, the second shortfilm has a really awesome killer. Thing is, it was so short and void of any real story that it really ruined the character altogether.

That was the thing about this anthology. The only ones that were kinda neat were too short to even make any sense out of. Now, I will say the animated one was cute and pretty much laid out a complete story. Besides that one, there was a Spanish shortfilm about a guy's funeral that pretty much summed itself up. I got a kick out of that one.

Those were the only ones that were worth anything in my opinion. The one I previously mentioned about the masked killer though was just such a cool idea that I think the writer and directors really should consider expanding upon it. Maybe think about giving that one it's own feature length film with a solid story. I think they just executed that in such a way that it took a really good idea and turned it into a "The hell did I just watch?" type of deal.

Anyway, if you like short horror films, just give it a go and see what you think.

This review is just for "Brandon"
aliway-0779419 June 2021
Im not going to do a review for the short stories. Some were great some i have seen on youtube many times before. I do want to give my opinion on the actual star Brandon, the embodiment of what I think most clowns feel on the inside! The guy was gross, kinda dumb, perfect amount of self loathing and in my opinion all things combined made him unsettling and off putting, which I am going to assume was his goal. So for that reason I give Brandon, the worst kinda clown there is, an honest one, 8 out of 10 stars!! The movie really isn't as bad as the ridiculous humorless "critics" are saying. Its a perfect rainy day afternoon watch!! Give it a shot it is more horror comedy than straight up horror. I enjoyed it and in the end that's all that matters!!

Nothing to see. I don't know what this thing supposed to be but after watching it I think it's nothing. Pointless, mostly stupid and not funny for sure.

So confusing
ggbellagomes30 June 2022
I expected a great horror film, but this was weird and confusing and boring. Also not sure where the comedy is, must've missed it.

Maybe just not my type....?

Ripped off the Cleansing Hour
ladymina-6805029 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
If you liked the Cleansing hour, you'll like this. They 200% ripped it off. Just shortened. Didn't keep watching because of that. Every little detail is the same. So disappointing.

Okay-ish
mchancalmystry14 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This movie definitely had some potential, but ruined it with the shorts. Brandon's story could have been pulled together better and more clear if different shorts were used to transition. Some parts were somewhat entertaining but most were pretty boring. Along with boring, also stupid, unnecessary and even cringey. Some were just copied and/or horror movie cliches! There should have been more original stories. I get the theme of them but should have been better set up and animated. Although the clowns in horror movies are used a lot, this movie would have been way better sticking to that subject. The parts were very scattered and confusing but the crazed clown phenomenon at then end really tied the bow. If it weren't for the end, my rating would have been lower. I liked the idea of the shorts again could have been better set. All in all pretty decent movie, it wasn't necessarily horrible so I recommend watching it.

Yeah. No.
wiccanwitch-1983814 November 2023
I read about this movie and then watched the trailer. The trailer was hard enough to sit through. I couldn't see myself sitting through the entire mess of a movie. It just made no sense whatsoever at any point.

With that being said, I also look for familiar faces and seen that Heather Morris is in this. Anything with her in it is a direct turn-off for me. If you've ever seen interviews with her then you know she's an obsurdly pretentious person looking for the next co-worker to throw under the proverbial bus. I suppose that explains why she's not so very successful after GLEE.

If you can actually make it through this movie then I applaud you.

One of the best anthology feature films I ever saw!
request-723 June 2020
Every single story was really well done and the wrap around story combined them greatly. My favorite was the one with the excorcism right in the beginning with a very surprising twist.

this is like loosing virginity x 12 for a horrorfanatic...
ops-5253518 November 2020
That loves gore and blood, that loves bestialic torture and bloody murder, that lives a morbid lifestyle wetherin fantasy or real life, thinking komorbidity is fun and to be multimorid is a sign of good health. so if you have the fetish, urge or need to be cuckold with, to take a bloody shower, hates your wife, or wants to kill in the most perversive and bestialic way your husband, thy siblings or parents, and even pets and animals too, this flick is a monster in doing so.

so i might as well say that this isnt a film for the fainthearted or crossminded in the audience. that could easily have been me too, but the speed of plot development, where you get 12 small horror gore episthels thrown in your gut at the speed of light, that isnt just weird and gruesome, but extremely detailed and believe it or not, hilarious fun. and that made me hang on , unfortunately a religious person might say, but the haddaway of life and death are just as simple as that except for etc.etc.etc.

this film will become every naitmerish gothic horror enthusiasts wet dream come through and therefore a major cultclassic on its own. much of the reason for that is simply a brilliant production, use of changing filming tecniques, cool animation, cgi and visual effects, the cast must be mentioned however they might be a big surplus that just commits the directors orders come through, the make up artists and costume department has gone bananas, and as a whole the filmography, soundwork and clever editing makes your eyes and ears bleed rustic tears.

before stating the finals, one word about the choice of music and additional score, that is devious as well as simple, born and made for horror, gore and rigor mortis. so if you cant listen to a philosophic and filantropic skelleton, doing the knucklestick drum whirl on the barreldrum, using obscene and merely antigood and devilproned vocals, then skip this.

for the rest of us , and especially me, the grumpy old man, think this was a film of shock and awe, and its a warm recommend, warmer than the 7th cirkel of dantes inferno

I'm a sucker
RoyMince29 September 2023
Thee storyline really made it for me. Being a huge fan of horror films, I might come off as a little biased, but in a nutshell, this film takes the horror genre to the next level and on the right path not relying on cheesy jump scares And quick camera pops this movie allows you to use your imagination and keeps you glued to the seat the entire time almost putting you in a hypnotic state it's one of those films that I might have to watch a second or third time just to make sure, I fully understand what took place. Kudos to the cast and crew, job well done and I would definitely recommend this film to this who are junkies of the horror genre, especially around this time of year.
