Stretched Thai Horror with great visuals
dschmeding24 November 2008
Warning: Spoilers
"Body #19" is an interesting Thai Horror Movie with pretty stunning visuals. There are several pretty stunning scenes, most surrounding the central long haired female ghost (yes, they did it again) but compared with other Asian horror movies of that kind they propped up the scare scenes with loads of great visual effects. Scenes like when the ghost appears in the museum with hundreds of butterflies or the finale sure are eye candy.

The whole cinematography of the movie is great (although I wished they had cut down on the use of a wide angle lense). The movie revolves around a guy who lives with his sister and starts having strange dreams about a woman being murdered and her ghost (which is presented more like a monster than a ghost) haunting him to find her body. From here a very slow unfolding of the story begins (the movie is more than 2hours long) which inter-cuts between several characters that are brought together in the end with a twist that to me seemed pretty forced. At least I have seen the Multipersonlity-Disorder twist done way better in other movies while here many loose ends are not connected but typically for Thai movies mixed with a pretty cheesy love-story and even cheesier music. The whole thing starts really promising, then gets a little hard to watch for its endless lag in playing time and in the end turns out to be a rather messy mix of nice ideas that just don't fit.

There is ghost scares, not too little blood, great CGI Effects and loads of drama and psychology mixed in. Some of the scenes could have become classics if the movie wasn't so stretched and disjointed. Anyway, if you are into great visuals "Body #19" still is worth watching.

Convoluted and dreary expositions
RogerB-P3RV320 February 2020
Chonlasit (Arak Amornsupasiri) is experiencing terrifying nightmares, growing so vivid each time that it was affecting his waking life. He seeks the help of Dr.Usa (Kritteera Inpornwijit) - a psychiatrist. Together they attempt to unravel the truth behind Chonlasit's recurring dreams. The makers rely too much on spotty CG-effects to conjure up scares and gore. Convoluted and dreary expositions over the two hours running time will test viewers' patience.

I'd skip this if I were you.
After reading the positive reviews for this movie, I watched it with high hopes. I have always liked Thai horror movies, but I have to say that this one is exceptionally disappointing.

The movie is full of obvious CGI effects, which I could have ignored if the story was good. However, all I could feel was I've wasted two hours of my life watching this to the end, hoping that the movie would somehow redeem itself from its cliché-driven plot.

On the plus side, some actors were quite good at their roles while others were worse than a flat tire.

All in all, I didn't enjoy watching this movie and would not recommend this to anyone.

One of the best Thai movies

My wife take me to the cinema I wasn't very enthusiastic though there was a lot of publicity for this movie.

Frankly I was falling a sleep for the first part, I couldn't understand well what was it about.. ghost, spirit or else... but finally when I realize what it was about I really appreciate the movie and wanted to see it again just after finished it. The story once you are in is interesting, the graphic are nice as well as the actor and the music I love it the song is : Body sop 19 -บอดี้ ศพ19 -คิดถึงเธอทุกที(ที่อยู่คนเดียว)

there is a video clip on :http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yefrps5xT3A

For me it's one of the best Thai movies some of you might think that 9/10 it's maybe too much; you are welcome to share your point of view. Thai cinema is got a good potential in all point.

No more Horror movies...please!!!

Warning: Spoilers
I am highly surprise that why these kind of movies are labelled as "horror".This movie is more like a psychological suspense movie rather then horror.

The plot is taken from various movies like "Identity","Fight Club" where personality disorder is depicted at the end of the movie.

I am a huge fan of Thailand horror movies but this was movie was a letdown in terms of script and the climax.

Final Verdict - Acting:5/10 Script:3/10 Cinematography:6/10 Direction:4/10

Is this movie recommended : No (Give it a miss)

Amazing piece of cinema!

Please don't miss it!

Awesome movie. One of my favorite Asian films.

It's an excellent thriller with drama and very, very good horror with lots of gore and a very good twist at the end.

It combines a great story about the mind and the subconscious, multiple personality, excellent visuals and a classic Asian ghost, but this ghost is better and scarier than the classic Asian ghost we know.

Take your time to see this film in the right environment, at night, no lights, good loud speakers, and let yourself go by this great piece of film.

It may seem a bit slow at the beginning, but as the film progresses, you can't take your eyes off!.

Bravo!!!

not multiple personality disorder

It is quite a difficult movie to understand, I have to go to different discussion boards to fully understand the movie. Like the director purposely hide the truth from the audiences but the clues are provided consistently making a fair-play. The actors performed well but not up to the Hollywood standard, the strong part of this movie is the plot and the script writing. The dialoque of the Thai movie has improved a lot lately for the past few years. This is about the hypnosis, the mind power and a discord love. It is very revealing and fun to go back to the movie and see all the puzzle fitting in place. This is definitely a very interesting and original movie.

Passion Beyond Death
OMTR23 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
A skillfully crafted Thai horror thriller that benefits from excellent direction - I love the camera movements and shooting angles - efficient editing and solid acting.

The story shows where uncontrolled passion and impossible feelings lead.

Love hurts, beyond death itself.
