Just when I thought german produced netflix original Barbarians couldnt be topped, along comes the roosky produced To the Lake. This year has been complete dumpster fire, but thankfully netflix has delivered with 2 solid originals Barbarians and TTL. These shows are so good, I'm willing to semi-overlook the perverted travesty of french produced hot garbage called Cuties. TTL has great character development with a ton of steady pace. Each episode is an hour long, but it feels quicker because of its brisk pace. Solid show.

Superb show - also bloody miserable

Solid show - really well done survival road trip. Characters are very well-written, the story locks together tightly and keeps itself grounded despite everything that befalls the cast.
It was also the most miserable and bleak show I've ever watched - the fact it felt so real made it worse. Could constantly feel the freezing, hostile expanse they were journeying through. There's very little light or beauty to the story too, just enough everyone to keep going - just cold, sad, and pretty hopeless. If that's doesn't bother you then go for it: I wish I didn't.
