matt berry is a fantastic actor.

I started watching this show, because of matt berry's work on IT crowd. The show has much more to offer than him, but on this episode everyone gets why he deserved so much this role. Jackie daytona the bar owner and volleyball coach helping the small town, gaining empathy with humans. And it has mark hamill. The writing is absolutely perfect, but without matt berry this wouldnt have reached perfection. One of the episodes of this show, certainly.

Warning: Spoilers
So the episode starts off with mark Hamill as a vampire coming to seek revenge because lazlo skipped out on rent 100 some odd years ago at a California beach house. He goes on the run, of course!, using a tooth pick in his mouth to make him unrecognizable. He of course, takes over a bar in the place he settles, and falls in love with the local volleyball team becoming their biggest fan. Then as often happens, he has a talent contest to help them get to state because they cant afford to go, and he can showcase the talent of the young girl who is falling for lazlo. Mark hammill returns, the toothpick comes out making lazlo instantly recognizable, they brawl. Long story short lazlo swindles mark Hamill with a billy big mouth bass, and hamill stays on as he has now replaced lazlo as the teams biggest fan!!! Phew that was a mouthful. Simply put that was one of the funniest things I have ever seen.

This episode featured the great Mark Hamill and he was put to great use! This episode had some very clever references(No Spoilers!) its great how they once again focused on one vampire(who happens to be my personal favorite in the show.) and gave him a clever story line with an awesome finish!! Loving this show so far!

Watch it. if you don't like it then the show ain't for you. been a big fan of this since it started and seeing Mark Hamil so well casted and executed was even better than i could have imagined. well done to all involved! can't believe a tv series could be better than an already cult fave movie but it is.

Clever and Funny
f_brd27 August 2022
I love this episode in particular, it makes me smile and laugh and I even talk about it to other people who don't know about What we do in the shadow series. I hope later season's they come back to it one more time, but no more, so no to kill it. Plus with the star wars in it at one point was very clever. Mark Hamil is some one to laugh with and at. I really wish I didn't have to do at LEAST 600 characters to finish this review. Seriously, I don't know what else to write about it, but that it was funny and clever episode. Ok this is ridiculous, I think I spelled that write. I think this should do it right about now.

Jackie Daytona
Hitchcoc6 September 2022
Laszlo meets an adversary who has power over him and does the logical thing. He runs away. He ends up in bar, mixing drinks. He also fall for a high school volleyball team, whom he want to succeed. He even has a romantic interest. But the guy who is after him shows up (Mark Hamill) and now his mettle is tested. Back at the ranch things are falling apart (sort of). There are some very funny moments here, especially a drinking contest between two vampires, neither of whom can ingest any human food or drink. Also, the dialogue is quite hilarious as they parry and thrust, not, especially by Laszlo trying to pretend he is not a vampire.

Fantastic Episode!

Warning: Spoilers
What a great episode. I hope Jackie Daytona makes a comeback at least a couple more times. Super hilarious.

From everything from the towel on the mirrors, to the volleyball team, and the small possible romance, was all good.

Also, i didn't even realize that was mark hamil. I had to go back and double check. Super fun!

Honestly, when a comedy show has that perfect combination of an actual storyline happening, but isn't necessarily plot driven, is when it hit's its stride. This show seems to have that peak. Still a very subtle story arc - take over Vampiric Counsels, and live their lives as secret vampires. Yet, the day to day comedy is still 100% character driven, and not plot driven.
