I'm what rednecks would normally call a woke liberal type, but this pi**ed me off. They're concerned about increased response times, but by taking 51 out of service they're causing increased response time for other people.

At least it portrays the bull-headedness of both sides in a dispute, where no-one listens to anyone.

And the professional protester, what a self-righteous narcissistic little pri*k.

Warning: Spoilers
OK, I didn't like this episode either. The taking over of FH 51 seems implausible to me but it could happen -- or maybe has happened. The other commenters, well some of them are a bit off the rails. This is a TeeVee show and sometimes an episode seeks to make a point or two and does so in dramatic and somewhat unrealistic ways. 1) People need FHs in their districts for safety, 2) local budgets are sometimes spread thin OR monies (as in tax monies) are distributed to the well-off (like the planned mall, e.g.) rather than supporting the not-well off, 3) Some politicians like the Alderman here, are out for the glory and the well-off and afraid of the skinned knee moments, 5) despite doing a dastardly thing, one of the bad guys is saved from losing his arms and life by the firefighters held hostage -- doing what's right even in the face of bad guys acting badly, and 6) the video Gallo and Ritter put together is the full-circle message -- we all need each other, so let's help and care about each other at the end of the day. These are worthy messages to portray even as they're put forth by a, well, rather dumb idea, frankly.

Not Peaceful Protest
tarnishedhalotx9 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
It is not peaceful protest when you prevent people from doing their jobs, especially when their jobs are saving lives, it is not okay to invade other people's spaces & make yourselves at home to get yourself heard. If someone whose space your invading tries to stop you, it isn't assault, and when the police get called in because "peaceful" protesters are being destructive/obstructive, they are doing their jobs! Shame on Hollywood, shame on Chicago Fire for making destructive protesting heroic, making the police & people objecting to being invaded & prevented from doing their jobs out to be jerks & the enemy. Peaceful protest is peaceful & punks don't deserve to be acknowledged or heard, even if, IF, their cause is just.

Oh common! This is just way too much!

Warning: Spoilers
Yeah this episode really pissed me off! They actually made those "protesters" out to be good guys just because they're not happy with a decision a politician made and take it out on the people off Chicago by preventing firefighters and EMT's from saving lives!! And you even see that one of those protesters is just doing it because he didn't get excepted into this job!! And yet they end the episode by helping the men that made sure innocent people didn't get help!!?!? Like they're heroes for obstructing justice?! I would like to think that if this happened in real life they'd all be cut down and arrested immediately!!! They would never go with that crap just because "They're family men who have kids blah blah who gives a sh$&"!! No way would they just let civilians hang around the firehouse 'cause they don't want bad press!! For Christ sake!! A peaceful protest would be people standing outside the firehouse or better yet the place of the people THAT ACTUALLY CLOSED DOWN THAT OTHER FIREHOUSE!! What they did in this episode is nowhere near a "peaceful protest" and I'm extremely pissed off that they did nothing, the police did nothing and they just let it slide because that one man has kids and he was injured while chained to the trucks!! Just stop, please stop with this bull! These people should ALL have gotten a obstruction charge and especially the man that was chained to the truck!!!

Unrealistic
rhomulas16 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Not even close to real world situations, a protest like that preventing government authority like that would result in multiple arrests, not to mention the guy who falls ill that they cut free moves his hand and opens his eyes whilst unconscious!!

Warning: Spoilers
As soon as the protesters got in, someone should have closed all doors. Would have avoided everything else. But it made for better TV this way?
