- The final four models step behind the camera during this week's challenge when they get to photograph Paulina Porizkova and later pose as famous movie icons in a shoot with photographer Nigel Barker. The girls are on edge when they learn that none of the judges are impressed with any of their final portraits.—Anonymous
- Whitney, high off staying as Katarzyna went home, resolves to stick around. In the bus back to the apartment, they fake friend talk, pseudo-supporting each other as only women in competition can.
When they arrive home there are pictures of the previous winner Saleisha all over the apartment. Dominque declares herself the Saleisha of this competition. As soon as she walks out of the room, the three other girls rag on Dominique. She eats candy, she eats other people's food, etc... Dominique says that she considers herself the most improved and a flashback montage of judge's comments backs her up.
Anya has some fun with math and notes there are only two challenges left. She says she was really impressed with herself to win again.
The next day begins with Tyra Mail: "Take a picture, you might last longer."
Hmm, given that Tyra took pictures last week, what could they possibly be doing?
They arrive at a park to see Paulina posing for a photographer. He tells them he'll be teaching them photography basics.
They grab their cameras and start the learning. Lens caps off.
Whitney says she learned her competition's weaknesses by shooting and Fatima thinks that Dominique criticized her too much.
Ann Shoket, the editor of Seventeen, shows up. They're going to be shooting Paulina and will be graded on the quality of their pics and how they work with their model. The winner gets 50 extra frames in the next competition.
Fatima goes first and seems to do OK giving Paulina direction. Dominique is next and struggles to give specific direction. Whitney follows and is aware of needing to compliment their judge. Paulina says that she was a lot of fun to work with. Anya starts, telling Paulina she has a vision that involves her throwing leaves. Paulina says that Anya needed to narrow her focus.
Critiquing time. Whitney did well, as did Fatima. Anya was a little scattered. Dominique gets knocked for having too much cactus in the pictures.
Fatima wins - her first challenge win.
Back at the apartment, she practices walking while Dominique mocks her.
Dominique talks to Anya and Whitney about how great it is that she believes in herself. Anya, later, says being around Dominique is draining.
Tyra Mail: "They're out for blood, but they'll give you a taste of fame."
They sit around, talking about their high confidence levels as they feel hopelessly insecure.
They arrive at the shoot and Jay Manuel tells them it's going to be a night shoot, and they'll be styled as 1950s models being stalked by the paparazzi. Their photographer is Nigel Barker.
They're posing with male models, which makes Fatima nervous because she's never had a boyfriend.
They start shooting, Anya goes first. Jay tells her to make it effortless and then takes credit for her best pictures.
Fatima, sitting on her extra frames, starts in. Nigel reminds her to look at the camera and Jay tells her he doesn't "feel the moment." She looks at her photos and thinks they're not very good. She gets to start again. Jay tells her to look angry. Nigel says later she has no star power.
Whitney, resolved to prove to Nigel she can take direction, goes next. He tells her "it's a little pose-y" for him. Whitney says she didn't think it went fantastically, but at least she looked cute.
Dominique is excited to work with Nigel, but Jay tells her it looks staged.
Jay says that none of them did well and that Dominique took a few steps back.
They head home, trying to assess their chances.
Time for judging. Anya is first. Her picture is great. Tyra takes some time to compare her photography skills to Nigel's. Nigel tells her her good look was almost an accident.
Whitney looks pretty, but Tyra thinks she's not looking surprised like her character is supposed to.
Dominique shows up and instantly gets critiqued again for what she's wearing. They're trying to teach her how to dress and she spends some readjusting her belt and shirt. Paulina tells her she looks like a "transvestite." Tyra asks for a look that would have been better for the make-up she had on and she nails it.
Fatima is last and also has a good picture, but Nigel's not sure it works with the idea.
Deliberation time.
Anya got lucky, Fatima doesn't look "caught" and Nigel says she acted snooty at the shoot. Tyra says she's not a good listener. Whitney looks good, but not in character. Dominique, looking like a hot tranny mess, is knocked for not knowing how to pose with all that make-up on.
Time for the results: Anya, followed by Whitney. Whitney looks surprised. Tyra tells her not to push as hard as she does.
That leaves Dominique and Fatima. Tyra tells Fatima that she's there because she didn't make use of her 50 extra frames and didn't listen to the judges. She says Dominique has improved, but maybe not enough.
Tyra reveals Fatima's picture, Dominique's out.
Dominique takes it like the man she looked like in her picture. She doesn't cry, and hugs Tyra and all the girls (even Whitney) good-bye. She gracefully thanks everyone for the opportunity.
"I'm definitely proud of myself. I know that my story isn't over...Making it this far and learning everything I learned, it's amazing...I have this amazing willpower to do so much. It's going to be a surprise what's next for Dominique. I feel like I'm on top of the world right now, even though I didn't win." It's her most dignified moment of the whole competition.
