Please Edit the Laugh Track

I love CATASTROPHE.....that's the Rob Delaney I wanted. Here, he is much more caustic. I think I winced nearly as often as I laughed out loud. But he is very funny.

He's a top lad, pro NHS pro Democracy

Rob Delaney's : Jackie is one of the funniest stand up comedies that I have seen in a long time. He is actually funny, which is a good start. He's also enlightened to amazing work that the NHS provide free at the point of use. Yes it is anti Trump, yes it's a bit dark, it's a bit vulgar, but it's also full of optimism and hope. I honestly haven't laughed this much in quite sometime. I'm a little biased as I have followed Robs career for a while now, I find him an enlightened and funny individual who actually probably doesn't give a s*** if you don't like him. If you like a good laugh, are an adult with a brain, you'll get a kick out of this. Watch it, but remember to breathe!

Really funny man!

Rob is definitely Mr Funny Man, I could listen to him for hours. So,so funny, clever and creative!!!! His U.K. anecdotes are so on point. He translates just common random British things in comedic gold with the current American irony. I really enjoy his talent. Keep it up! Can't wait for more.

Wow Great! But why all the fake reviews? Is that needed? Poor audience reception?

A laugh track...
justin-sepulveda19 January 2020
There's no way people were laughing that hard at everything he said. None of the jokes landed for me. The story telling was off, nothing flowed, the transitions were off. It just wasn't funny. Loved the first season of Catastrophe... but this ... was not the same caliber.

I didn't laugh as much as I thought I would
hmb-5177821 January 2020
But I identified with his struggles. And I did laugh REALLY loudly at the end of the piece.

He's one of those observational humorists, which by and large doesn't make me howl with laughter. But it is way better than many of the comedy specials I've seen on Netflix of late.

Thank you Rob ~

The exact same laugh track I've heard on Netflix
backup-5036214 May 2022
And I can see why he desperately needs one. At first I'm like "oh good, he sucks but at least he's not doing political stuff."

Then, of course, he started saying the predictable American politics stuff to elicit an obligatory applause from the audience, and that was pretty much the entire special.

Really terrible. And I don't know who'll believe the booming pre-recorded applause was real when we can see the half-asleep audience.

Laughed so hard I felt sick...and that's a good thing

Warning: Spoilers
I made myself late for work because I started watching this with my wife in the morning after the kids had gone to school. But I couldn't stop. I was laughing so hard I made myself sick, but in that good cathartic way. Because Rob is incredible at taking the messed up show that is life and turning it into something gut-wrenchingly funny. Amazing comic monologue about getting old, kids, home birth! (been there), pets, healthcare, trains...perverts in shrubbery! Damn I love this man.

This is 5% funny, 35% angry in a nasty way, and 60$ recycled from Catastrophe

I have a British friend who has lived here in the US for about five years. She is actually a published top of the field researcher in genetics. The first few times you would meet her socially, she would fill quite a bit of space with an entire, and initially pretty funny, litany of why living in the UK sucks, why the British are idiots easily swayed by promises of "free" goodies from the government. About how it is a nanny state, about how people there have given away liberty, about her sister in the UK waiting a year to get treatment for a condition that is easier to treat the US, and about how being in the EU has given control of so many aspects of UK life to un-elected bureaucrats in Brussels. At first it is pretty funny. Couple of fairly funny anecdotes. But at a certain point it becomes repetitive and you kinda get ticked off that the gal endlessly is slamming her country to people from other countries simply boosting herself socially, trying to fit in, by spewing nastiness about her own country.

Watching Jackie, Rob Delaney is exactly this kind of person. A one hour shtick in that vein is just interminable and you will find yourself eye rolling after about ten minutes as this standup turns into one long idiotic rant.

Rob Delaney's "Catastrophe" sitcom ran four seasons. The first season was pretty good, and then it fell into a repetitive rut and was cancelled as ratings fell and fell. If you have seen first season of catastrope, you can skip this and be glad you did.

Not Funny at all
nldrn5022 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
He's great in Catastrophe but this stand up was horrible. Not funny, too much Trump bashing even a whole bit on how great it would be that watch him die. Also his penis talk was just gross not funny. I turned it off. Can't comedians just leave their political bias out of their routines?

Laugh track?

I dunno...there's a live audience but they added a laugh track anyway. Kinda tells you all you need to know.

We enjoyed Catastrophe for the most part.

But this isn't it.

Loves Catastrophe but this left me cold.
stevelivesey6718 August 2022
He's a talented comedic actor is Rob Delaney but a polished stand up? NO.

Found myself zoning out to some of his stuff.

A bit disappointing. Stick to the other stuff Rob. And how about Catastrophe season 5??
