- "I am Dorin" is the third and final film in the omnibus named "In The East, In Eden", which includes three shorts - "Chers Amis", "Salix Caprea" and "I am Dorin", written and directed by Valeriu Andriuta. All three subjects are located in the Republic of Moldova, the country of the former Soviet Union. The final version of the Omnibus "In The East, In Eden", will be shown in cinemas. The action goes to the urban area. Dorin is a student. He lives in the country and comes back to the capital to attend an exam for a Bachelor's degree. Not his own exam but on behalf of someone else. To assume the other student's identity, he meets his mother to discuss details and negotiate a price. With no place to sleep in the city, he decides to spend the night in his ex-girlfriend's dorm, who left to Italy. The decision to wear another identity even for a short period is not only due to material poverty but also to the blatant lack of moral and spiritual reference points. In Moldova, most of the adults went abroad to work and the children were left without parents. Education becomes poor and corrupt in all stages - kindergarten, school, college. The exam itself is not so difficult, but any exam can easily turn into a life exam, an attempt at maturity. Dorin has one night ahead to set up his relationship with the world, where he will have to live the rest of his life, and the morning begins as a new beginning. He spends the night with no sleep while getting drunk and witnessing an attempted rape. The next day, he attends the exam.
