'Gwen's farm' was actually filmed at two different farm locations. This was because one farmer owned the shotgun required in the film, and the other farmer owned 'Gabriel' the dog - and neither farmer could allow the gun or dog to be present at the other farm, for health and safety reasons. Hence, footage from both locations was edited together to portray one farm.
Post-production liaison between co-producers in the USA and UK was conducted entirely over the Internet. Their first meeting after shooting completion was at the film's UK premiere in York, England, where most of the filming took place.
The actress who played 'Gwen', Mollie Eccles, couldn't actually ride a bike, so the mother of director, Dan R. Smarg, was filmed cycling from a distance in matching clothes. Another scene required a low camera angle shot of Mollie Eccles on a bike, held upright between the legs of the first assistant director to simulate the bike being ridden by 'Gwen'.
