The mutineers have repaired captain Taylor's ship weeks earlier then Robinson anticipated, so everything must be speeded up. His plan to overtake the mutineers' cruel leader Will Atkins was betrayed. Robnson's party escapes and tries again to convince enough men returning to England with Taylor's pardon is better then a proscribed life under Atkins's tyranny. After a literally painful duel of wits and arms, Robinson is to taste both success and bitter disappointment.
