First episode that establishes overtly that the Eppes family is Jewish.
Guest star Tim DeKay (bank manager Peter Friscia) later starred in White Collar, in which he played a dedicated, by-the-book FBI agent (also named Peter) paired up with a crook suspected of many more crimes than the FBI could prove, including bank heists. At least one episode centered on bank heists and there was coincidentally also one in which krugerrands played a large part; in fact this episode in total was very much up the White Collar alley. Additionally, one of his co-stars on that show, Sharif Atkins, guest-starred on the previous episode and one of the stars of Numb3rs, Diane Farr (Megan Reeves), later guest-starred on White Collar.
The canister of gas used in the beginning of the episode by the robbers had CS printed on it. CS gas is a weaker version of tear gas and is used in the military for training to give soldiers the experience of tear gas.
At about 12 minutes while discussing Charlie meeting Amita's parents he asks her if the problem is his being Jewish. This brings to mind am earlier episode in which Don asks Alan why their family isn't religious. Alan replies that his wife once asked if they might have a Christmas tree The fact that he said "she" target rather than "we" suggests that she celebrates Christmas, he does not. That was the first hint that their surname "Epps" might be an Anglicized version of "Epstein".
