Two of the four members of the Austin, Texas band, Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein, put together the two-part soundtrack for “Stranger Things.” Dixon and Stein jumped at the opportunity to work on the show when contacted by creators Matt and Ross Duffer, aka the Duffer Brothers.
“The [Duffer brothers] reached out to us last July with a trailer they had made using one of our songs. It’s a song called ‘Dirge,’” Dixon told IndieWire in a recent interview. “Once they got greenlit, they reached out to see if we were still a band, if we were still available. We were obviously interested and sent them a bunch of unreleased stuff to listen to in the meantime.

Most fans of Netflix’s hit series “Stranger Things” agree that one of the many great things about the show is the creepily nostalgic music that’s reminiscent of the ’70s and ’80s. The two-part soundtrack was created by Survive’s Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein, who jumped at the opportunity to work on the show when contacted by creators Matt and Ross Duffer, aka the Duffer Brothers.

Before Matt and Ross Duffer were known for their critically-acclaimed Netflix series “Stranger Things,” the sibling duo wrote and directed a short film in 2007 titled “Eater.”
The project, which has been making its rounds online, is based on the Peter Crowther short story of the same name and shares a chilling, suspenseful feeling similar to their latest show. “Eater” stars Emanuel Borria, Douglas Bennett and Nick Gillie and tells the story of a rookie cop that works the night shift at a police station with a cannibal prisoner on the loose.

Up-and-coming Brit actress Andrea Riseborough has joined Alexander Skarsgard in “The Hidden”, a new horror movie at Warner Bros.
Written by Ross and Matt Duffer, the 2011 black listed screenplay tells the story of a family who hide out in a bomb shelter after a mysterious outbreak. Full details about the plot are being kept under-wraps for the time being but we imagine there will be plenty of twists and turns in this one. The Duffer brothers first got their name out there with “Eater”, a 2007 short film about a police station that is stalked by a cannibal overnight. This will be their feature film debut.
Riseborough was star of Madonna’s “W.E.” and appeared in the WWII alternate history movie “Resistance”. She has landed a number of high-profile gigs recently including a part in James McAvoy’s actioner “Welcome to the Punch” and opposite Tom Cruise in his big sci-fi...

Rising Brit actress Andrea Riseborough spent most 2011 out of the multiplex and in the arthouse, with a number of pics unspooling at festivals including Madonna's "W.E.," James Marsh's espionage tale "Shadow Dancer," and the alternate history WWII tale "Resistance." Big things are on the horizon with roles in a handful of promising efforts including the James McAvoy led action flick "Welcome To The Punch" and Tom Cruise's sci-fi number "Oblivion," and now she's knocking "horror movie" off her to-do list.

Alexander Skarsgård, the young offspring of the well-respected acting talent Stellan Skarsgård, hasn’t quite carved his niche out for himself just yet in the film world. Outside of women everywhere with HBO subscriptions who DVR every episode of horror soap “True Blood” to watch his ripped physique, his excellent spots in Lars Von Trier’s “Melancholia,” the HBO mini-series “Generation Kill,” and even his performance in the unnecessary Rod Lurie remake of Sam Peckinpah’s “Straw Dogs” have seemed to go unnoticed despite being praiseworthy. That should all change as he’s been lining up an impressive slate of films, including his first big blockbuster in the sci-fi board game remake “Battleship,” an epic Viking picture he’s producing and starring in, and a plum role opposite current indie darling Brit Marling in “Sound of My Voice” helmer Zal Batmanglij’s “The East.” Now he has another potentially mainstream-ready...

I was initially afraid someone had finally gone and pushed forth a remake of Michael Haneke‘s Caché — which, translated to English, reads as Hidden — but that day hasn’t come just yet. Rather, Variety reports that Alexander Skarsgård (True Blood, Melancholia) will be starring in Matt and Ross Duffer‘s “elevated horror-thriller,” Hidden, which centers on a family that find themselves secluded in a shelter after a mysterious outbreak occurs. Roy Lee, Mason Novick, Lawrence Grey, and Richard Zanuck are producing.
Very little else has been stated about the project, either on account of the studio wishing to maintain some kind of mystery — or, I suspect, because it hasn’t attracted too much attention in the first place. Luckily for the interested (a group I’d count myself in), Skarsgård‘s bound to pull in some fresh eyes, so a little more should come out soon. Hopefully not too much,...

According to Variety, Warner Bros. Pictures has just bought the spec script titled Hidden, from twin brothers and recent college graduates of Chapman University, Matt and Ross Duffer.
The duo have written and directed various short horror films including, 2005′s We All Fall Down and Eater in 2007. The current project will act as the brother’s feature length directorial debut, which is scheduled to start in early 2012.
Hidden is a horror-thriller about a family forced to hide out in a bomb shelter after escaping an odd outbreak. Roy Lee (The Departed), Mason Novick (Juno) and Lawrence Grey will produce the project, with John Middleton and Sebastian Aloi serving as execudive producers.
Even though the Duffer brothers are relatively young, their careers do show promise thus far. The fact that their first feature script was picked up by Warner Bros. says a lot, not to mention that they have famed horror producer Roy Lee,...
