The phones shown in the staterooms are Gecophones, which is correct but, assuming the liner is intended to be The Queen Mary, they should not have dials. Passengers simply pick up the phone and are connected to an operator.
On the ship board sequences filmed on the QE2 one of the deck scenes shows Julia and Charles sitting by an outside pool on deck. Such outside pools were not common at all on British passenger ships until well after WW II and even then were uncommon on ships sailing primarily in the North Atlantic.
