Per the title, Giacomo Girolamo Casanova de Seingalt (1725-1798) was a Venetian adventurer and author. His autobiography Story of My Life is regarded as one of the most authentic sources of the customs of 18th century European social life. So famous a womanizer was he that the name "Casanova" remains synonymous with the art of seduction. Had he not been bored and written the story of his life, he would probably be forgotten today.
