- It's the first day of school in Ireland for Joseph, a 9-year-old African lad. The teacher introduces him to the class, he sits, and as the day progresses he remembers moments of his schooling back home. Two of the boys in class start to tease and pick on him; he's stoic, ignoring them at first. He's defended by one of the girls in class. - Nine-year-old African Joseph is in for a difficult start, after leaving his war-torn country to seek a better life in Ireland. But under those circumstances and as the new boy in his class, young Joseph is clearly an easy target, after all, he is a proper outsider, and as a result, a real magnet for the class' bullies. Then, inevitably, Joseph's mind wanders back to the carefree past and his colourful old schooldays; why should things be so different now?
