The main idea to develop the screenplay was to fragment Sabrina's story into layers that go deep down her memories, and end up coming back to the surface.
The opening scene was scheduled to be filmed in a real radio studio, but confusions with directions and time forced the team to film somewhere else. They ended up filming in a school porter's lodge.
As of June 2021, Sabrina is the second most viewed short film on the San Juan province, and the number one of Caucete city.
In June 2019, the project started development as a participant of a short film contest between schools of Caucete city. The team's school was assigned to make the film about gender violence. The students thought of a anthology-type story, and assigned Mercado as the director, but Mercado was not comfortable with the plot, so he acceded to direct only if he had total creative freedom.
