Great For Kids
kennydarling-119296 August 2021
This attempt for a kid friendly Marvel show works for us. While I love the Marvel movies, they aren't really little kid friendly. This show has Spidey and his friends including Hulk and Black Panther help confront evil villains in their attempt to do bad things.

PJ Masks Rip-Off
silverbullet6420 October 2021
Fun animation, but it's a total copy of PJ Masks, where you have three child heroes who go after the same three villains, and one of them always had a lesson to learn. Plus, kids shows nowadays think their audience are a bunch of idiots.

PJ Masks with Spider-Man
galfc25 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The title of my review sums it up perfectly.

Although I think PJ Masks is a very boring and hammy show I actually enjoyed Spidey for what it is. As a massive marvel fan and more notably a spider-man fan being able to see my 3 year old son enjoy it and get more and more in to Spider-man is a treat. My son seems to giggle at the villains like Rhino and Goblin, but I find female Doc Ock to be very annoying as her dialogue is very cheesy and guilty of the same issues some of the PJ masks villains have.

The life lesson stuff I can find to be very grating as well, as much as the show is for pre-schoolers you and your child will be bludgeoned with a particular word or lesson that I feel treats children with not enough respect. This repeats some of the shortcomings of the marvel superhero adventure shorts that are also on disney plus, it just comes across as lazy writing for a pre school show when you hammer in lessons. As someone said in another review the show should just entertain and sell toys let's be honest.

In summary the show is enjoyable enough and has a catchy theme song. It's nice to see Miles Morales and Spider-Gwen get more media attention since the successful Into the Spider-verse animated movie as well. This is enjoyable for Marvel fans passing on their love to their kids.

Watching it, but not by choice
catosbabydoll22 April 2024
My kids love watching it, even getting inspired to be a superhero like them to defeat the baddies. As a parent that HAS to sit through it, it's decent for a kids show...but there's other shows I would prefer to watch instead, because, "Oh look, another tv series where are the heroes are kids who save the day, villains are power hungry and only get a slap on the wrist, and adults are bumbling idiots who never get why they're kids are gone as the heroes show up."

I enjoyed the generation of superhero shows where the baddies get sent to jail or pay for their crimes instead of tying them up in the same spot that they were scheming their plan and never doing anything else with their repercussions. It's the reason why they are MANY baddies to take care of, to keep the series going. It's not so heroes tell the bad guys AGAIN to say, "oh well, you just need to behave better, have a nice day!" When kids get into justice, apparently a pat on the back is the answer, which is unrealistic, anticlimactic, and nauseating, for the real world. It just sets up kid viewers poor expectations to real life IMHO.

Why do the same baddies come back and monologue more than actually doing what they schemed? As a time filler, of course!

Why do the parents of Peter, Gwen, and Miles NEVER recognize their own kid's voices when they talk with them??? Unknown reasons.

Why do adults depend on KIDS to protect the neighborhood instead of taking over and handling the situation or are acting incompetent to do anything??? Idiocy.

Why does everything have to be a "talking through things to resolve the problem???" Feelings matter more than facts.

I just don't get it. I mentally eye roll whenever my kids ask for it, but I give them the opportunity to enjoy it...I just won't be...

It's weird but a little funny (very)
noambarziv1 April 2022
It's very weird until it's funny the simulations can be improved and also the animation and take care of it that all the simulations look like dolls for two shekels.

Its rough
paperposts6 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
With quality shows like Bluey, and Puppy Dog Pals on Disney Jr, I have a hard time enjoying Spiderman. The writing is absolutely mundane. For example...Peter needs to use "patience" in one episode, but that fact is repeated ad nauseam. I can understand twice or even 3 times. Once to introduce the "lesson," a 2nd time to let it be known that (patience) IS the lesson (by the fact that the word has now been repeated). And maybe a 3rd in summary. But 6,7,8,9 plus times? I think it's almost insulting. Children are not bumbling fools, but this show sure seems to be written as if they are.

I honestly think any average child above 4 may find this boring. They may "think" they enjoy it or MUST enjoy it, bc after all, its Spiderman. But I think deep down, even they'll feel its too simple.

The animation is decent and fun. I personally don't like their strange bodies (everyones) with the ginormous clubbed feet. They make Fred Flinstone look svelte. But hey...its a cartoon.

I'd probably want to give it fewer stars...but again, it's a cartoon and I can't take things too seriously lol. But I'll admit, as a Marvel fan myself, and knowing the other shows that are out there, I'm admittedly disappointed. (Sorry!)

Great for young kids
NeonRust12 February 2022
Ignore the reviews complaining that the show is too childish for them. It isn't aimed for them. Their upset isn't a fair review of the show. My kid is 3. He loves it. It's for kids his age and a bit older. It isn't for 30 year olds. To review it as such and with that mindset is silly.

This show is bright, colourful, fun, cute, well animated, well voiced with a great art style. It's not as educational as other kids shows; it's purely more about entertainment.

It's very similar to shows like Paw Patrol or PJ Masks. It's a great introduction for younger children to Spider-Man and the Marvel Universe.

Imagine if everyone was kids
ilpo-surokivi20 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Don't listen to the haters. It's intended for kids, not for teens and nerds who like the kind of grittyness that comes with adult Peter and teen Miles. To be honest I remember 10 year old me reading the Spidey comics right after 9/11 and there was some tough stuff there. I kind of understood it as you know pre-teen but some things about death and stuff a child doesn't understand.

As a criticism I have to mention what this kind of teaches kids. Spidey is just a kid so he kind of puts himself and his friends in danger. Kids, don't get into fights. This is just Spidey, don't do what he does. Plus baby Rhino looked hilarious. Imagine that this gritty Russian named Alexei was stuck in that suit since childhood and was like that since baby. Like you know, in Marvel's Spider-Man on PS4. Can't wait to see see old man Adrian Tombs aka Vulture as a baby.

A disgrace to the Spiderman franchise
arielsiere17 June 2022
To begin with i was asking me so many questions i thought this would be a good show, but then i thought that this show ruined the original Spiderman and his movie Spiderman Into The Spiderverse and i think this show is just like Thomas And Friends All Engines Go but all over again and i hope the voice of Spiderman doesn't sound so childish just like Thomas ( All Engines Go) sounds his voice actor was Meesha Contreras, what a bad show.

Fun Spidey adventures for the kids
kevinreyesreyes4 October 2021
I'm just unsure why people dislike this because of the appropriate approach to the kids with this Canadian produced animation. It's fun to see heroes vs villains when your kid is around and this animated show is no exception. This is one fun adventurous show.

It's ok. Not amazing but not as bad as some reviews make it look like. It's been renewed for a second season, so I hope it will be mentioned in some way in some multiverse thing in the MCU.

Not enjoyable for parents or kids
mlofgren-2610412 June 2022
There are kids shows that make an effort and then there's spidey and friends. Poorly written, bad plots and your child will learn nothing. Everyone associated with this show should be ashamed and not be allowed to work in slow again.

It has its moments. That is all. Not to confused with Spiderman and His Amazing Friends. Even its animation is better than This knock-off. Teen Titans go is better than this show.

Great for young toddlers
joeyallen-9946126 November 2021
I can see a few reviews indicating this show might be for an under 4 yo audience; as a parent of a 3.5 year old I agree but find this to be perfect for us! My son has always had a big interest in spiderman but we've struggled letting him watch it because of how violent or dark the other versions can be. That has surprised me for childrens shows but I understand they're marketed to older kiddos. When we found this show it is the perfect way of letting my son watch something he loves and often asked for but that is age appropriate. I also really appreciate the length of the shows. The cheesiness does not bother me and we actually really appreciate it and use it as a way of teaching our child certain lessons. Would recommend to oparents of 2.5 yo toddlers +.

Great show, my son loves it. Gobby though?
mattymatt494 October 2021
This is a great show, I love that Gwen Stacy and Ghost Spider are getting more love, she's my son's favorite character. However The Green Goblins nickname in the show "Gobby" is slang for blowjob in Australia. I can't stop laughing while he is trying to watch it. Congratulations.

Chibi Spider-Man
BoxwoodExpress9 August 2021
Starting with this review, I have a new points system. Each show has 5 elements - writing, characters, music, animation, and voice acting. Each element will be graded out of 2. If they all get 2 points, the show gets 10 stars. So let's swing into this review

Summary: Spidey and His Amazing Friends is Spider-Man for the preschool market, which is Disney Junior realizing how profitable Spider-Man and the other lower-deck Marvel characters are. It features Peter Parker, Miles Morales, and Gwen Stacy.

Writing: The series has the child characters learning lessons like friendship and teamwork. While it's good for kids to learn these things, these lessons are becoming overused on Disney Junior. Kids aren't going to take away lessons from the show, they're just gonna ask their parents to buy toys. I'm not expecting Oscar-level writing, but at least do something different. Props for creativity with the setting though. And I do have to commend the writers for not putting Peter's backstory for the billonth time 1/2

Characters: Peter, Miles, and Gwen are now young children, and naturally they do childish things because of that - like argue over which ice cream flavor is the best. But they're each unique in their own way, and these differences and flaws contribute to their success. The villains are pretty entertaining because of how cheesy they are. Doc Ock would be far more sinister in any other production, but here she hams it up as a mere schoolyard bully with state of the art technology and I love it. 2/2

Music: I love Fall Out Boy and was pleasantly surprised with Patrick Stump contributing to the soundtrack. The theme song is very catchy and a nice change of pace from other Disney Junior theme songs. 2/2

Animation: The animation isn't the best, as it's rather blocky. I like the character designs and how they're super-deformed. Atomic Cartoons is better at 2D than 3D. That being said, it could've been worse. 1/2

Voice Acting; The voice actors are impeccable despite their age. They infuse energy into these iconic characters and make them seem like real children. Black Panther has a great actor with an African accent, showing us that he's from Wakanda. 2/2

Overall: 8/10.

Great for father son bonding
kmhzrbz3 December 2021
I grew up loving comics and Spider-Man was always one of the coolest ones and me and my 3 year old love watching together! Great theme song and score. Nice and simple and to the core of who the characters are and way better than watching coco melon or baby first or little baby bum where even new episodes half the time are repeating the same songs as before. I've reminded my son of many of the themes ex: remember hulk said you shouldn't throw things or people might get hurt! Toddlers struggle sometimes with patience, anger and frustration. I love watching and the bigger and smaller lessons they put in there are great !!

It's FOR kids.
Is it enjoyable for parents to watch? Not really, but do kids love it? Of course, it's Spider-Man. It's not a show that is educational, but it doesn't have a lot of violence or fight scenes like other Spider-Man cartoons will have. It doesn't really fit with the lore or Spider-Man universe, but rather an option for kids to still enjoy the Spider-Man franchise.

MARVEL PJ MASK
MyRealtorYambo2 January 2022
That's exactly what this is PJ Mask with a Spider-Man suit. Not saying it's bad, it's great and your kid may like it more if they already know marvel super heroes but it's super obvious. It's weird that miles goes by Spin and Gwen is ghost spider, I don't understand the reason for that but other than that you see green goblin and others. It's cute. I recommend it for kids 100%.

Great for kids!
evanmajor85 October 2021
As a long time Spider-Man fan, I didn't expect anything from this show. I turned it on for my 3 year old niece who loves Spider-Man. The first thing that impressed me was the visuals; the textures and design on the costumes are incredible and surprised me for a Disney junior series. The writing was simple but super fun! The directing was dynamic and comic-esque. I like the colors that are used as well as the animation style. One thing that you need to understand is the real audience of this show could not leave a review on IMDb. This introduces important Spider-Man characters and characteristics to a young audience who will keep these characters respected and alive in the future. If you have kids or are babysitting or whatever, this is a good option!

The Low Rating Was Because of Vyonders
defabbio-3208730 August 2022
To me, this show is very harmless and a bit action packed too. However, the reason why it only got a 5.7/10 rating overall was because of the toxic preschool haters. I used to be one of them back in my tween years, but by the late 2010s, I started to judge things by quality, and even started liking some preschool shows. I think the character designs in this show are cute, and the stories, while simple, are effective.

Somehow the show prefers introducing characters in shorts rather than episodes, which if you ignore the shorts, you might miss out. Otherwise though, this show is great, a bit fun and has okay CGI, better than the animation used in The Chicken Squad. I also want to note the studio behind this show also did 101 Dalmatian Street, which kinda says something. Please don't listen to the preschool haters and watch the show to form your own opinion. Have reasons to like and dislike it, I'm perfectly okay with that.

Stan Lee, you would've loved this.
ultimatedisneycruisefan31 December 2021
I don't care what you people say, this is a very great Marvel show for kids! Idk why the new Disney Junior shows keep getting low stars (6/10 stars), but at least Bluey has 9.6/10 stars! Anyways this show is a must watch for your younger kids. And I must say they need an animated cameo for Stan Lee to appear. Maybe one of his old voice overs! Anyways, I love the animation, cast, and art of this show. Just stop looking at the low reviews and just check it out! Oh Stan Lee, if only you were here to see this...

murrylangton20 March 2022
My kids love this. It's got enough humour and action to keep them entertained, and it's WAAAYYY better then most mindless kids cartoons they've watched before! Just wish season 2 got here faster, we've watched season 1 about 30times already haha!

My kids are 4 and 3, boy and girl, and they now both love Spiderman :)
