It's a really decent show

Ever wonder how that dude pulled off that powerful swing kick? Jason Chambers and Bill Duff travel the world to show you on the history channel the unique styles of martial arts. The two know basics of fighting; which make it good, because no one wants to see some know it all host for an hour…rather, they learn as you learn and they actually participate as though they were new students each time.

Every episode; they study with a master of the particular style and challenge a selected fighter to a bout that takes place at the end of the hour. Only one of the hosts gets to enter the fight.

During the show it reveals several fights of the discussed style which is a really awesome feature in the program and makes it exciting. The fight at the end isn't always that great because Chambers and Duff don't have a lot of time to train: but I have seen them get hurt; i.e. broken bones and sometimes they'll bleed.

The styles consist of: Kung Fu, French Savate, Muay Thai, varies karate, along with much more.

The show is worth watching if you're into thehistory of martial arts. I've even seen some that I didn't know… this was surprising. If you're a UFC fan you might also enjoy this show for the fact of knowing where some of the fighting styles came from.

Enjoyable for it's purpose

This is on the History Channel for a reason. Extremely educational and interesting as these shows go. I think it definitely serves it's purpose in showing the development of the martial art and the creators. I think that the hosts show the proper respect to each of the forms and their teachers. I also enjoy how they use the CGI to run through the move and how it works. True, the "master fights" are a little ludicrous but these individuals aren't totally new to these art forms. The one host especially is a MMA fighter which gives him experience in several different styles covered.

Over all an interesting take on the martial arts world. I enjoy the show.

I'ts a copy of a British Chris Crudelli Doc

They have been to many of the exactly the same places, whilst there met exactly the same masters and contributors, check out the original Chris Crudelli doc on you tube and see for yourself.

we have this wonderful medium of television and we can't think of anything original? I mean, if you want to cheat and copy, at least change some of the locations and the people right? blatant waste of a budget, fill your boots and cover some new ground that hasn't been trod, that's what you are paid to do and that's what we as viewers pay to watch........ Word from the wise: if you want to remake something, make it better not worse, come on production people, stop ripping off British ideas and think of something original....
