I am enjoying this series, but I may have to stop watching it because of the damage being done to my ears. The film industry does this far too often: when Southerners are being portrayed, invariably there will be an actor in the cast who takes it upon himself/herself to attempt to sound authentically Southern. The result is painful, disastrous, insulting and terribly distracting. Such is the case in this series with Dr. Bill Townsend. He and his hicky-phony drawl ruin every scene of which he is a part. It was just that the South lost the War, but that we must be eternally, infernally depicted is an abomination.
