Fun attack

My opinion of "Attack of the Weird Al-Osaurus" was mostly positive while not raving about it. It was interesting to see as to whether Weird Al Yankovic would work as a Scooby Doo guest star and how he would fit, and my first impressions of him were positive as well if not one of my favourites. While not a consistent show in episodes and guest stars, 'Scooby Doo and Guess Who' was on the whole surprisingly very enjoyable, when usually not being a fan of some of the guest stars.

"Attack of the Weird Al-Osaurus" had a lot to like too on rewatch and like with first watch it struck me as a good but not great episode. With a lot of good things but a few things that could have been improved upon as well. Weird Al still works well, while not being one of the best (though a long way from the worst) guest stars. "Attack of the Weird Al-Osaurus" is in the solid middle category when ranking the 'Scooby Doo and Guess Who' episodes, both compared to the previous episodes and of the overall show.

It isn't perfect. The reveal is one of the show's most predictable of the ten episodes up to this point of the show's run, could see everything about it from miles off due to options being too few.

Did feel too that the story felt a little rushed at times and that the use of the accordion was overdone and annoying.

However, the animation is colourful and atmospheric, while the music fits well in energy in atmosphere. The theme tune is still catchy though it has always struck me as too short. The chase sequence isn't too long and is creatively animated. The writing is smart and very amusing, with some nicely endearingly goofy moments.

On the most part the story is diverting, with some nice creepiness here and there and cool villains. Weird Al is a good guest star, in nice oddball character, very charming and a lot of fun, though maybe could have had a little more weirdness. Love his zany and charming chemistry with the ever hilarious Shaggy and Scooby, who are far from bland. Can't fault the voice acting.

Concluding, well done. 7/10.

One of the better episodes in the show. If you're an Al-Head or a Scooby-Doo fan, this is perfect. Every joke lands and Yankovic's charm shines bright. He does overdo the accordion schtick, though. I think that's just part of the fun.
