If you thought supermarkets rushed the holidays on us, they’ve got nothing on Tubi. For the latest Tubi Original, they’ve skipped right past Christmas to give us Dante’s Hotel, a New Year’s Eve-themed horror film that begins on New Year’s Eve 1975 in the Dontene Hotel. A young Daniel Brayer axe in hand, stands over twelve dead bodies including those of his parents.
Twelve years later it happens again and Daniel is there again. Both times however the bodies vanish before they can be taken to the morgue leaving Daniel a free, if very troubled man who has taken up permanent residence in Room 1224.
For 2023 the hotel has hired Goldie to run their New Year’s Eve bash. It’s an anniversary for her,...

Sharknado has been back in the news this year, since 2023 marks the tenth anniversary of the goofball shark movie’s initial release – so it’s fitting that Sharknado director Anthony C. Ferrante also has multiple new movies making their way out into the world this year. The latest Ferrante joint is the horror film Dante’s Hotel, which is set to be released through the Tubi streaming service this Friday, October 13th. With its premiere just three days off, a trailer for Dante’s Hotel has arrived online and can be seen in the embed above.
Scripted by Ferrante and William C. Martell, Dante’s Hotel has the following synopsis: When an unknown assailant preys on the patrons of a haunted hotel, an event planner teams up with a mysterious tenant whose dark past is the key to freeing the cursed hotel.
AnnaLynne McCord (Excision), Judd Nelson (The Breakfast Club), Moon Bloodgood (Falling Skies...

Anthony C. Ferrante, who used to write for Fangoria magazine back in the day, has directed twenty feature films over the course of his directing career – and several of those are shark thrillers. Ferrante was the director behind the over-the-top shark action of Sharknado, and when that movie turned out to be a pop culture sensation he returned to direct all five of the increasingly over-the-top sequels. The franchise wrapped up in 2018… and now, five years later, Ferrante has directed his seventh shark movie. A production of The Asylum, it’s a thriller called Blind Waters – and it’s already available to watch on the Tubi streaming service! To help you decide whether or not this movie is something you’d want to watch on Tubi, we have the trailer embedded above.

It was bound to happen. Netflix started making and showing original movies, then Amazon, and then Tubi followed suit with Swim. But as Tubi is not a thing here in the UK (thanks Gdpr) we’ve instead had to wait almost two years for the film to hit Blighty. However, don’t get too excited. Given their budget and “free with commercials” format of its source, this isn’t The Irishman or The Tomorrow War. This shark in the house film was made by The Asylum and their frequent director Jared Cohn from a script by Anthony C. Ferrante… so don’t expect Jaws either!
The Samson family Lacey, her father Noah, and kids Charlotte (Brett Hargrave; Weedjies: Halloweed Night) and Tucker (Daniel Grogan) are renting a beach house.

It’s campy. It’s gory and it’s all about zombies. Ian Ziering is back and he’s battling zombies. Zombie Tidal Wave premieres tonight on SyFy at 9 pm. We don’t really need to go in-depth here, but it looks like from the trailer that zombies are coming ashore and Ziering and company have to battle the undead or join them. After playing Steve Sanders in all ten seasons of Beverly Hills 90210, Ziering has created a cult-like following with the Sharknado series. So far there have been six Sharknado movies all airing on the SyFy network with big numbers churning out to watch the mayhem. Sharknado may be cheesy, but there seems to be an audience that loves those crazy sharks. Ziering is hoping that those same people who love the Sharknado series will be fall in love with Zombie Tidal Wave. Anthony C. Ferrante who directed all...

Ian Ziering is back, and not just in BH90210. He’s back on the Syfy channel in a sort of spin off to the “Sharknado” series that premiered on SyFy in 2013 and had five sequels. Ian Ziering’s production company brings us “Zombie Tidal Wave” which premieres Saturday, August 17 at 9 pm as part of SyFy’s “Off the Deep End Weekend”. The SyFy event will also include the Sharknado series. While about as campy as “Sharknado”, “Zombie Tidal Wave” tries to add some more realistic gore to the spoofy genre. I don’t know about you, but the ten episodes of Swamp Thing we received sure did fly by from my perspective. Maybe it was because the first (and quite possibly only) season had its episode count reduced from thirteen, but the show proved to be awesome in so many respects. At first, I thought it to be fair at best, and then things kicked into high gear before long. In short, I ended up loving this adaptation and happen to be sad to see it go.
Like some of you out there, I’m hoping Swamp Thing is able to follow in the footsteps of its DC TV brethren Lucifer by finding a new home elsewhere. You’d think Netflix or Hulu would be the first of several possibilities, but it’s really up to the bigwigs when you get down to it. Fingers remain crossed that the suits see the potential we do.

Syfy is moving forward with a fourth season of “Wynonna Earp” after a prolonged delay caused by funding issues at the show’s producers, Idw Entertainment.
The new season, which will begin production later this summer, is slated to premiere in 2020.
Syfy previously picked up the cult favorite series through Season 5, though it was reported earlier this year that production had been delayed because Idw said it was losing money on the show. Cineflix Studios has now come aboard to co-produce the series, with Cineflix Rights to handle international sales for all four seasons of the series.
