This film is a dramatization of true events. In 1863, His Royal Highness the Maharajah of Benares, Ishree Pershad, provided the money for a new well in Stoke Row Village in the Chiltern Hills of England. Prior to the well's completion, Stoke Row had a very poor water supply especially in summer. The Maharajah wished to emphasize his loyalty to Queen Victoria in the aftermath of the Indian Rebellion and build bridges between the two nations. Written by Kate Sandison
