Mission Impossible is undoubtedly one of the biggest and most popular franchises globally. In fact, it won’t be wrong if we say that the film series made Tom Cruise a known face in several countries. Unfortunately, the seventh installment of the Mi franchise didn’t do well and turned out to be one of the biggest disappointments of 2023. So, in today’s piece, we’ll be revisiting the start of the iconic movie franchise and how it performed at the worldwide box office.
The first Mission Impossible film was released way back in 1996, and it kick-started one of the legendary movie franchises in the action genre. For those who don’t know, it was a continuation of a TV series of the same name, which first aired in 1966. Upon its arrival,...

Marvel is bringing Secret Invasion to your streaming device, and we’re about to see what the Skrulls have been up to since we discovered that Nick Fury had been a shapeshifter at the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home. Since then, it seems like a lot may have been going on. Skrulls have found their way into positions of power in the MCU and are ready to reveal themselves for a global takeover.
This series could reveal to all of us that some of our favorite characters have been Skrulls this whole time. How would the other MCU characters react when they discovered that some of their closest allies were Skrulls? It could be chaos. Of course, that was their plan the whole time.
What Is Secret Invasion?
In the comics, Secret Invasion was a company-wide crossover that saw the reveal that Skrulls had been living among Earth’s heroes,...

There’s been a battle brewing between two of Hollywood’s blockbuster talents.
In one corner, Tom Cruise is gearing to take a victory lap from the behemoth success of “Top Gun: Maverick” with a sequel to his other big action franchise, “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One.” It’s expected to be one of the biggest movies of the summer when it opens on July 12. In the other corner, Christopher Nolan, one of the few directors so famous that his name alone can draw crowds, is readying to release his highly anticipated “Oppenheimer.” The big-budget drama about the creation of the atomic bomb launches just a week later on July 21.
At the center of the drama is access to Imax, and how the company’s 401 North American screens will be divided between the two box office draws.
Except, in this case, there wasn’t much to negotiate. Paramount...

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One writer/director Christopher McQuarrie describes the new Mi film’s Rome chase scene as more ambitious and unpredictable than any car stunt they’ve previously shot. The two-minute behind-the-scenes featurette shows just how incredibly difficult the car chase was to shoot, especially given that it was all done practically.
“It all comes down to one thing: How do we involve the audience? I just want to give them that thrill,” explains franchise star Tom Cruise.
Part of lengthy chase scene involves Tom Cruise and Hayley Atwell handcuffed together while they’re being pursued, which meant that Cruise had to drive one-handed. “Tom driving and drifting one-handed through the streets of Rome… That was a day I’ll never forget,” says Atwell.
Returning cast members for this seventh film of the Mi franchise include Ving Rhames as Luther Stickell, Simon Pegg as Benji Dunn, Rebecca Ferguson as Ilsa Faust,...

So, where does it say that only the big studio blockbusters can rattle the multiplex over the first big holiday weekend of the Summer cinema season? Certainly, there’s a bit of room away from the Furious fellas’ and the MCU. That’s what this flick is hoping for as Gerard Butler continues his quest to be the lower-tier action star, much like the Cannon crew did in the “go-go” 1980s (after Arnold and Sly there was Chuck and Claude). For this thiller-diller we travel to a real “hot spot” (in more ways than one) for a desert tale of undercover capers and narrow escapes. You see, everyone’s after Mr. B, so he’s got to somehow make it outta’ there via Kandahar. Heads up for lotsa’ sand and sweat!
It all does begin in the desert of Iran as a foreign tech crew is upgrading the area to high-speed internet.
