Should be nominated for best picture!
jacobse-0769714 June 2019
Just indescribable. Brilliant characters, beautifully crafted linear plot, and last but not least, fluid dialogue and humor. This is the 2019 equivalent to Romeo and Juliet in terms of a love story. I truly couldn't predict anything that happened. Hopefully we see a sequel!

Brought me to tears....
Aki_Tapi18 June 2019
This is the best short film I have ever seen. The emotion displayed through the characters is unbelievably powerful. The plot is so unpredictable and the humor is amazing. "I am full of ordinary sounding words, but when I say them and you are there to hear them; all is well, with everything." This quote brought me to tears. It is so inspirational and is possibly the most beautiful sentence I've ever heard. Overall, this film was beautiful and has completely changed my life.

One of the most heartwarming short films ever
ikieneng14 June 2019
This film truly touched my heart, it combines my favorite genre science fiction with comedy, and the characters were amazing. Austin is a fantastic writer and director, I like this even more than his previous film Sprouting Orchids (2014), which was a masterpiece as well. This is now the third animated sci-fi comedy I remember seeing, the other ones being 0000: A Shark Odyssey (2018) and 0009: The Sharks Make Contact (2019), which I highly recommend you also check out!! I love Austin's movies!

Excellent writing
alexanderticonuwu4 July 2019
The writer really knew what it was doing. From the plot all the way to dialogue and small details that gives a little insight on the characters. I'd give examples, but watching this should show you what I mean. Too bad the writer is hardly getting any money from this underrated masterpiece.

One of the deepest movies I have ever watched

Warning: Spoilers
This movie really inspired me... it taught me that life is limited, and that sometimes e may be stuck in situations that may end tragically... but in the end, we can only make the best of the situation, and try to live our lives to the best.

The universe is seemingly endless, but even then, our lives have limits. I suspect that the movie takes place in a world where space travel has become practical, and a great reformation.

So, to all you Today is Spaceship Day fans... live live to the best, love everyone, and don't be afraid!

It goes into detail with some serious topics. Such as peer pressure. I can't Imagine a better way to display such an amazing concept. This deserves more love from critics.

Inception done right
jmalfarhaty23 June 2019
This isn't a sarcastic review, what Nolan's Inception tried to do subtly is invoke a feeling of dreaming which it couldn't achieve, this short film truly feels like a dream and it's aided by Austin Mcconnell's excellent unquestioning narration, this shouldn't be compared to movies because this is an experience

Powerful film
lisitsinnick12 January 2021
This film spoke to me on so many personal levels, it hit me harder than the green mile and Schindler's list ever could! I was crying like a little baby at the end and it got me out of my suicidal depression! Powerful movie, don't miss this for the world!

A strange but beautiful work

It's hilarious. It's also completely illogical. That's what makes it brilliant. It also has points of absolute beauty. I love it.

Guys, I laughed SO MUCH of it, this is really good, the plot is linear, its like a dream, but a dream that doenst turn into something completely different right after anything begin to make some kind of sense. Really good.

This film is one of the best in existence. its humor is unmatched, and has a easy to follow plotline. it has many random elements that make it even better. finally, the CGI is better then "The Worst Movie Ever (2015)"

all in all, its great. 10/10

Better than pixar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Warning: Spoilers
This animated short is unbelievably excellent, the concept of spaceship day is possibly the most intriguing thing I've ever heard of. Near the start is a brilliant explanation of this praised day, you can really tell that of all the special days, this is the one that really means something. Harrison's (the main character) choice of who to take with him was a fantastic part of the short, my only complaint is that I wish Hagrid the Table was picked but Dexter and Charlie are still great characters. After that scene, Yaxley and Harrison fight, and this fight has a perfect blend of action and light-heartedness. Harrison wins and he and his friends go to space and I can't put into words how good the ending is so here's a quote from the short, "I am full of ordinary sounding words, but when I say them, and when you are here to hear them, all is well with everything". I forgot to mention why Hagrid the Table is so great! Hagrid the Table is very charismatic and patient, waiting 20 minutes for a volunteer, when two people volunteer Hagrid the Table makes them fight. Nothing convoluted, for these reasons, I hope Hagrid the Table gets his own TV show.

A Shocking Masterpiece
brycen-0049631 January 2022
"Today is Spaceship Day" is a masterpiece. It shows the heroic and heartwarming story of Harrison Idontknowwhathislastnameis, with his cowardly friend Dexter and love interest Charlie. This is such a shocking masterpiece that deserves more credit than it gets.

ajsky-8559523 September 2021
I have never seen a film as amazing as this. The entire cast should be proud of how they managed to put together a film as great as this. 10 stars.
