Just like Hungarian cinéaste Marta Meszaros,Estonian cinema director Herz Frank celebrates the birth of a human.

In many ways,Estonian film "The Song of the songs" can be called the 'origin of the origins'.This film is relevant as it portrays how a child birth is carried out which is the real origin of the origins. It would not be wrong to state that in reality, this film is the book of books. This is an important work by Herz Frank,an Estonian cinema author who is best remembered for his feature length documentary film "The last judgment" which was one of the most popular films before the dissolution of Soviet Union.Herz Frank shows us a young woman in labor who is unable to bear labor pains. This agony is shown through some well crafted extremely close up shots. For the woman, relief comes in the form of her boy friend/husband near her who knows emotions of knowing her pain.Just like Marta Mescaros who also shot a special footage of child birth in her film,Herz Frank shows the real 'behind the scenes' tale of a child birth-an activity which is common to all individuals regardless of their age or social status. The major difference is that whereas Marta Meszaros included child birth scene in her fiction film Herz Frank uses his documentary film footage in this film about "Child birth".Lastly,The Song of Songs gives the message that the joys of motherhood are tough as to get them one has to bear tremendous labor pains. This proves the adage that no pain results in no gain.
