The National Football League (NFL) saluted Virginia Tech before the start of the draft in respect for those injured and killed the horrific tragedy.
The NFL Network installed a "fan cam" they described as a confessional booth for fans in attendance to analyze the picks made by their favorite team. The most compelling "confessions" were shown during the telecast.
New York Jet fans were at the draft in large numbers with several wearing the infamous green and white for fan favorites #12 (Joe Namath), #89 (Jericho Cotchery), #51 (Jonathan Vilma), #10 (Chad Pennington) and #80 (Wayne Chrebet). It is common to see numerous New York Jet fans at the NFL draft in New York City secondary to the close proximity of the Jet's training camp at Hofstra University on Long Island.
