A Conversation with Cathartic Release
betterinthe80s23 July 2020
I thoroughly enjoyed A Conversation from beginning to end. I believe that this short is told with beautiful simplicity and I love that it's soley built on this honest dialogue between two people. The performances are passionate, yet subtle in all of the right ways. Time goes quickly but stands still in the moments it needs to. I also thought the cinematography and coloring made both actors look lovely, but still grounded in reality. The story is told with such vulnerability that I believe many people will identify with the main character (I don't want to give anything away) needing to convey everything they've been feeling throughout these years while these two characters have known each other. I believe many audience members will feel a type of cathartic release to watch this conversation that always needed to happen, or perhaps it was just a personal experience for me. Either way, I consider this film a great success and the cast and crew should be very proud for bringing a unique and moving piece of art to audiences. Please check this short out if you have the opportunity. It's absolutely worth it.
