- Anne Boleyn: [to Thomas Wyatt about his work] You are a poet as I am a woman. Poets and women are always free with their hearts, are they not?
- Queen Katherine: Sometimes I think the king will ask me for a divorce...
- Charles V: A divorce? No. That is impossible.
- Queen Katherine: [quietly] Is it?
- King Henry VIII: [He grabs Anne Boleyn's hand and looks stunned and she smiles and keeps eye contact with Henry] Perseverance you are my prisoner now.
- [Anne pulls her hand away from Henry and smiles at him and vanishes with Brandon]
- King Henry VIII: [speaking to Wolsey about court funds] My father was a careful man, a shrewd man, a businessman. He left me a great deal of money, Your Eminence. I intend to spend it.
- King Henry VIII: [conversing with Wolsey about their defenses] What we lack in men, we can more than make up for in ships. We are in an island race, Cardinal. We have the best and bravest sailors in the world. I will have the greatest navy.
