The Little Mermaid, Scuttle and a little bit of swashbuckling?
TheLittleSongbird22 March 2010
Not a favourite from the series but a very enjoyable one. The animation is very good with nice underwater scenery and convincing character movements. In fact, the only character animation I didn't care for was that of Grimsby(he and Prince Eric make a cameo at the end), his pupils looked as if he was drunk for some reason and his face looked somewhat deflated. That said, everything else is fine. The music is excellent, Scuttle's song is very catchy and the story is engaging.

The characters are still their fun selves, Ariel as caring, headstrong and sympathetic as she consistently is in this series, Flounder very cute and Sebastian hilarious. Not to mention a bunch of pirates and a parrot. But the star is Scuttle. Brought to life by an exuberant Maurice LaMarche, a worthy replacement for Buddy Hacket, Scuttle is very funny here with some fun asides and witty throwbacks. The voice acting is very well done, as is the case with this series. Jodi Benson is wonderful as Ariel and Samuel E.Wright is a perfect Sebastian.

Overall, not the greatest episode of the series, in my opinion that is Wish Upon a Starfish, but a great episode all the same. 9/10 Bethany Cox
