Hamton J. Pig : You tried to cheat madame! You put your name on her script! But I took care of that.

Montana Max : You mean?

Hamton J. Pig : Yes! I put madame's name on your script.

Montana Max : You slime!

Plucky Duck : [watching from afar, chuckling] Monty's been had!

Hamton J. Pig : I cannot let her be destroyed. You see, I made Elmyra Desmond a star.

Montana Max : Ha! You?

Hamton J. Pig : There were three young directors who showed promise in those days: Cooper Deville, some other guy whose name I can't remember, and ME!

[Monty and Plucky gasp]

Hamton J. Pig : And I gave it all up for Elmyra. You see, I was her first... pet.
Elmyra Duff : Don't you think that I'm cute?

Montana Max : I recognize that voice. You're Elmyra Desmond, star of all those "Cutesy Toon" cartoons back in the thirties. You used to be big.

Elmyra Duff : I AM big! It's the CARTOONS that got small!

Montana Max : [to camera] It's her MIND that got small.
Montana Max : [narrating] So she brought me into her inner sanctum to talk shop. Meanwhile, the camera did this endless, tricky 360 degree pan that... never really paid off.
