Good show with lovable characters! Ahead of its time
KurttheWord7413 May 2019
I would rate this 7.5 if I could. Very unique and relatable. Yes this show has flaws, but the good moments outweigh them. If you didn't watch this show from 2007 when it debuted, you probably won't like it as much. I really recommend watching from Season one. Season one is a bit kiddish and cringey(actors were like 12) but the story is on point! As the seasons when on characters got more mature and it was even better to watch. Seasons 2-4 in my opinion was prime Icarly. Especially season 4. Seasons 5-6 the characters were like 18-19 years old which made it feel like a real TeenNick show. If you're like me and haven't watched it in several years, I recommend you do so. If this show started in 2019, it would be 10x better than it is. Ahead of its time for sure!

Pretty good
Jennifer_Aldaine4 July 2013
Another hit from Dan Schneider. The show is full of quirky random behavior which I find pretty funny. The acting is okay, but not great. Sam Puckett's lazy and juvenile personality is hilarious and entertaining. Carly Shay is kinda meh, but still pretty like-able. Personally, I think Miranda is a pretty decent actress, but I feel she shines best when playing an "evil" character, like Megan from Drake and Josh. Spencer Shay's falling and fire gags were entertaining at first, but became sort of tired as the show went on. Overall, the show is pretty good. Maybe some touch ups on the acting here and there, but should provide entertainment for the whole family.

Pretty good

Warning: Spoilers
I started watching iCarly in the middle of season 3 or 4. I found the show to be nonsensically funny. While the Sam character has reasons to be so mean there are times where she goes way overboard in my opinion. Of course this can be attributed to teen age hormones running rampant I suppose. Freddy is the only real reason they have a web show from what I can tell. Without his tech knowledge it doesn't seem as if there could be a broadcast. What's with Gibby and pulling his shirt off all the time? He sure ain't purty to look at with a shirt on. Carly is a warm hearted cutie who appears to only see the best in most people she runs into. Although she will go after a really bad one. The brother is a bit off center but he is an artist. How they earn income is never addressed. The brother sells a piece from time to time but where does the money come from for all the monthly expenses? Maybe daddy colonel? I find this show to be funny and at times it actually seems to address some aspects of teenage angst and growing pains. (With Sam around actual pain too, the butter sock is cool but wouldn't it start to drip or squish out when it warmed up)? Freddy's mom is even more off center than the brother. How Freddy turned out fairly normal with her around is a credit to the writers.

iWon't lie: I think it's a cute kids' show, even if uHate puns like this title.
Ddey6524 August 2008
It seems like with everything Dan Schneider has produced, semi-spin-offs are inevitable. It certainly would seem that way with every kids' show he has produced. Amanda Bynes became such a force on "All That," she got her own variety show, which she was much better than. Former All That & Amanda Show cast-members Drake Bell & Josh Peck got a show of their own, and now Miranda Cosgrove, who played Drake's little sister on that one gets her own show here.

Cosgrove plays as Carly Shay, a teenage girl from Seattle who's the host of her own internet site and show. Her co-host and best friend is Samantha Puckett, a girl played by Jennette McCurdy, and my memories of Miss McCurdy are from an exceptionally heart-breaking episode of "Law & Order; Special Victims Unit." Fortunatley, she gets to co-star in something much less heavy-handed. Not to say that the character she plays on this series is anything like that one guest appearance. She's an allegedly tomboy-ish, obnoxious girl who's hostile to a fault, always gets in trouble at school, and apparently has a drunken, mentally-ill mother who we see as often as Dr. Niles Crane's wife in "Fraiser."

The only boy on her show is their technical producer and cameraman Freddie Benson(Nathan Kress), a boy in Carly's class who lives in an apartment across the hall from her and has an unshakable crush on her. Carly has made it clear that she doesn't feel the same way, something he's painfully aware of. Sam thinks even less of him, since he's a frequent target of her insults. Carly gets to do what she does, because she lives with her brother Spencer, a 20-something avant-garde artist played by Jerry Trainor. Trainor is another veteran of "Schneider's Bakery," being known for his role as Crazy Steve in "Drake & Josh." It helps to try to think of him as a rational version of Kramer from "Seinfeld."

You wouldn't think that a TV show about a webcast would be interesting, but it is. If I tried to make a webshow, it would either bore the crap out of you, or annoy you to no end. In all honesty I'm as bad of a public speaker as President Bush. In any case, this show revolves around the lives of Carly & Sam and how they integrate it with the webshow, and how real life sometimes gets in the way and vice-versa. Speaking of real-life, it actually has real-live kids making their own webcasts for the show, although I'm convinced a lot of the kids are obscure kid actors. Good or bad, these videos tend to end up on the show, as well as Nickeodeon's website. And yes, you have some that are amusing and some that are annoying(your tastes may vary). These completely mental misadventures of Carly, Sam, and Freddie are hardly groundbreaking, but enjoyable nevertheless. If you don't have an aversion to kids' sitcoms, perhaps you should give it a try.

For the most part, I like this show, but some parts are questionable
cemetery_whispers10 October 2010
I watched ICarly when it was first on, and i was really impressed at the first couple of episodes. It was funny, cute, and good-natured, and i was pretty young then, so i didn't think about it too deeply. This show has survived on Nickelodeon pretty well for about three years, and i have to give it a thumbs-up for being so popular.

First, the good things about the show: It' usually a really good show with some good humor and likable characters, and they usually try to do the right thing. If little kids are watching, they'll get a few life lessons from it. Spencer is my favorite character, next is Gibby. They, in my opinion, are what give the show most of it's fun. Some of the jokes are pretty funny, and they do a good job at keeping you entertained with most episodes. The whole idea of a girl making a web show is pretty unique, and i have to say that there hasn't been a show like this before. For the older people watching, the guys'll want to look at Carly and Sam, and some of the other girls on the show, and it is sometimes good for that. The plots of the episodes are usually pretty funny and creative, and some of them are realistic, while others aren't (but they're all fun.) I like watching this most of the time, which is where the 7 comes from.

There are bad things about this show, too. The one that i think of is that they show it too much. It's probably on Nick about eight times a day, and by then, i'm sick to death of it. Same goes for Dan Schneider's other show, Victorious. Secondly, some of the humor in the show is questionable. Sam is pretty annoying in a lot of episodes, and even Carly can be sometimes. In the episode where she wants to go to the boxing thing, and Spencer tells her no, she acts like a brat, and then when he busts her, she gets mad at him for something he says to the boxing guy. Other episodes like the fencing episode show that Carly bosses Spencer around but she can ignore him if he gets serious. In addition, the characters on this show are obsessed with texting and phones, and that gets really annoying. They've been going everywhere themselves and doing things by themselves like they're adults since the very start, even when they were, like, 13, they use the laugh track too much and they can even get away with hiring a bunch of little kids to make shirts for them! Oh, and everyone, and i mean EVERYONE knows what their show is. How does that really happen?

For the most part, i recommend this, because it's a pretty good show, although you'll probably pick up on the same things i did.

Warning: Spoilers
ICarly is a worthy successor to Dan Schneider previous hit, Drake and Josh with great characters, strong humor and just the right amount of heart and character development...is what I would say if the show didn't drop the ball less than half way through it's run. Like, this is a classic case of a show overstaying its welcome and going from an ambitious and unique show with a well executed premise to a generic sitcom with tired cliches and lackluster storytelling. Ever since I last saw the show, I've always wondered what happened to the quality in the latter seasons. Well, let's pull a classic Saberapark and find out what ruined iCarly (for me, I know a lot of people still have fond memories of it; this is just my opinion). The first season actually showed a lot of promise and in hindsight was so ahead of it's time I almost want to believe Dan Schneider and his team of writers were psychic. The first episode portrays almost exactly how something went viral and how these kids decided to continue making funny videos. It wasn't for the money or fame, but because they liked making the audience laugh. The season also had episodes wher they tried to get more views, filmed in detention, tried catching an alleged criminal, and even exposed one of their teachers for illegally downloading songs. They even tackle sponserships and tv deals in a hilarious and clever way. The show started out with a bang and you'd think that same level of quality would continue into later seasons. Spoilers, it didn't. Alot of people point to the Seddie arc as the downfall of the show, and that's a fair assessment. Although I'd argue that the Seddie arc was climax of a common problem that started all the way back with the first episode of season 2. That problem was having the web show, the very foundation of the series, take a backseat in favor of romance and drama. Many episodes post Season 1 don't have the web show integral to the plot and some don't even have the web show present at all. This leads to many episodes feeling really generic and beneath the show's concept. Like, did we need an hour long special where Carly dates a "bad boy?" Or an episode where they try to make Sam "girly?" Then came the Seddie arc, which I never understood why the writers thought Sam and Freddie being together would be either interesting. They been at it with each other since the very beginning. At best, they'd learn to respect each other but even then a romantic relationship would be out of the question. They lack any real chemistry, they never agree on anything, and they take focus away from what the show is supposed to be about. There are other problems with the show as well and it baffles me how they weren't fixed as the show went on. In the first season, Freddie's Mom, Marissa, was overprotective but still loved her son and respected his boundaries. In the later seasons, she might as well put Freddie in a plastic bubble and she was so ungrateful that he saved Carly's life, she got vindictive on her for "almost killing her son." This isn't even funny, this is just mean. Ms. Briggs and Mr. Howard are such bad teachers, they make Mrs. Hayfer look like Professor McGonagall in comparison. They clearly despise kids, they make unjust punishments to them, they kiss up to the superintendent, and it's confirmed that they're in a relationship despite Mr. Howard still being married. If I had to pick the worst sin this show commits is having One Direction, David Archuleta and Good Charlotte feel wasted. They didn't let David Archuleta sing because they spent too much time on an unlikable character who deserved to lose the music competition. Good Charlotte was completely superfluous to the plot of the TV movie and the best they could do with One Direction, the biggest boy band on the planet at the time, was have Harry pretend to be sick? I here by dub thee LAME! Ultimately, the reason why iCarly fell from grace is because Dan Schneider and the writers chose to make the show less about wacky antics in front of a camera and more about the romance and gags outside the web show. I suspect they did this to prevent the show from being dated, but like I said before: the first season was a head of its time. The Internet gave rise to many popular celebrities such as Arin Hanson and Dan Avildan (Game Grumps), Doug Walker (Nostalgia Critic), the Fine Brothers, James Charles, Salman Khan (Khan Academy), and the biggest ones of all, Felix Kjellberg (Pewdiepie) and T-Series. It's no longer a niche novelty that'll become dated in a few years; it's now part of our modern society. The decline of iCarly happened because Dan Schneider and the writers had an inherent misconception about the longevity of content made on the Internet. It's ironic that in an effort to not feel dated, the show ended up using tropes and cliches that were tired even before the show first aired. In conclusion, iCarly could've been one of Nickelodeon's best shows had it stayed consistent in quality. The characters were likable and funny, the humor was on point, the sets were well done and and there's just the right amount of heart to prevent it from being schmaltzy. However, all those positives only apply to the first season, about half of season 2, very little of seasons 3-7 and of course the finale. The show overall is a mixed bag with a lot of good episodes but also a lot of mediocre episodes. My advice, just stick with first season and some of season 2.

iReview a Show With a Great Beginning and A Huge Bump in the Road During the Middle
NickSchedules15 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
In 5...4...3...2...live from Felix in the Future Productions, I'm here to do the review of a highly praised show, but my opinions will be interesting. If you were watching Nickelodeon a lot throughout the late 2000s and early 2010s, you'd know that ICarly was their most favored sitcom. It was so inescapable that you couldn't went 30 minutes without seeing Miranda Cosgrove in some way (music videos or promotion for the show). True story, I couldn't get into the show because of that reason. Cool concept but Nick kept shoving it down my throats while I was busy watching SpongeBob and other animated shows at the time. I felt like it was never going to end, and so it did after 5 years with a record breaking 109 episodes (including specials) something that no other Nick sitcom achieved until 2019. The show got so mainstream that I considered it the Simpsons of Schneider's Bakery (clever comedy, decent characters, and forced celebrity guests). The longer it went on, the more they became gimmicky. It was already a gimmicky show to begin with since it does has the "Famous teen sensation" formula that Disney loved abusing at the time. However it's different this time in that it was mostly about the Internet and not a singing star. People claimed Carly was a bland character, but honestly she's not that bad (at least early seasons, anyway). Miranda Cosgrove still does a decent job even if the directing has gotten more louder forcing her to shout her lines when possible compared to her snarky and mischievous character from Drake and Josh. Sam is a love or hate character. Personally I'm neutral to her but yeah her abusive behavior to Freddie was unwanted (don't get me started with that one gimmick I'll tackle later in the review). Freddie is the Squidward of the show meaning that he's always suffering abuse and misfortune from everyone he interact with. And let's face it, while we enjoyed most of the ICarly Sketches, we mostly watched just for Spencer alone. Jerry Trainor will always delivery his lines flawlessly no matter what character he's playing. I don't recalled a Spencer plot while the other main characters had at least one bad episode under their belts. Oh and Gibby somehow became the main character in season 4 and became part of the ICarly cast, because promoted fanboy or something. He used to take off his shirt all the time but then he matured and usually utter his name in a surfer dude accent. If I'm being honest, once I finally sat down and watch the entire show, I wasn't expecting much but it was better than I thought. Of course, it's not consistent in quality because I got a lot of pros and cons to talk about especially the cons. Let get the positives out of the way first: the show's humor and storytelling g was at its peak in season 1 and parts of season 2. Not all of them were winners, but this is what I defined ICarly: a show with teenagers making a webshow and hijack ensures. I also think the character development were at its best in this era because they were more tolerable and weren't spoiled brats because the plots demand it. It also had a great finale and while I hate to say that so soon, it's true. The middle seasons were a step down (at least the last season was half-good). This is not the ICarly everyone knows and loves. The ICarly everyone knows from late 2010-early 2012 become a pandering piece of garbage because Nick and Dan got too cocky with the show's success. I can't blame myself for avoiding the show like the plague at the time because we wouldn't even had Fred Figglehorn on Nickelodeon or One Direction widely known if it wasn't for ICarly. The Victorious crossover was praised by most fans, but I'm just going to confess right now: I didn't cared for it. While it's far from the worst crossover ever, I just thought it was overhyped to the extreme. The character interactions between the ICarly and Victorious was nonexistence and it took forever for both shows to collide. At least Kenan Thompson and the theme song mashup bumped it up to a 5/10 rather than a 3/10. But let's bring the elephant in the room, which is the whole stupid Creddie vs Seddie love triangle plot that plagued the show during 2011. This is when I feel like Dan Schneider started to pander to the fans (this includes references to his older shows because he's too egotistical to reference other TV shows) and his works started to go downhill as a result. If you're a person that wants to be entertained but have no time for these love stories, I suggest you to skip season 5 altogether. Trust me it's not worth your time. Shipping wars like this are the reason why people can't have nice things. It's a shame to see this show last like 100 episodes and see it go downhill because of the gimmicks they kept churning out to please the fan base. Overall, stick to seasons 1-3 and 6, and just avoid seasons 4-5 altogether if you don't want to fight with the fandom over ships.

A funny kids movie
vintagegal37 July 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Icarly is a good kids show for kids and very funny show.

reasons to like Icarly 1.) It is funny.

2.) It is unpredictable.

3.) Wide range of shows.

4.) Good kids show.

Reasons not to like it.

1.) It is sometimes repetitive So it is mostly a good show.

Icarly is about a girl named Carly played as Miranda Cosgrove and her brother Spencer played as Jerry Trainer and Carly's friends the wild Sam who Carly does her web-cast with, who is played by Jenette McCurty, and Freddy who is the tech guy of the group who is played by Nathan Kress, and then there less important, but still important Gibby, who who is played by Noah Munck. Together these people kind of live a second life with each other. They must survive the adventures they get into being famous, from losing a member of the gang to getting kidnapped... twice!

I give this movie a 7.5 out of ten and recommend this not to adults, but definitely to kids.

Another great sitcom from Nickelodeon. iCarly preserves Drake and Josh's legacy with a show equally as funny and emotional. I love these characters and their reactions to different situations! Nickelodeon just doesn't make sitcoms like this anymore.

My favorite nickelodeon series
MARVIN_SHO21 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
ICarly, the longest running and beloved series, introduced me to the Internet and the first of YouTubers like YouTube. I discovered it in 2009 when I watched the video for Miranda Cosgrove's opening song with Drake Bell. This show made me a loyal Nickelodeon viewer and showed me that online fame and passion are achievable. Crazy fans love Carly like Ponny. And Sam was and still is my favorite character. The romance between Sam and Freddie in later seasons surprised me the first time, and then I realized that these characters don't really need it, because in the end it won't be in the new series, which is a shame. The leg scenes were weird to be honest. Despite the oddities, this is a cherished childhood favorite of mine.

Repugnant drivel that would stink up a landfill.
thermatoga19 August 2009
Warning: Spoilers
This show is based on the concept that loud + obnoxious + repetition = funny. The comedic writing is non-existent, in fact I face serious repercussions by even comparing it to entertainment of any sort. Here is the premise. Two girls accidentally get their shenanigans posted on the internet and hilarity ensues after their initial success, they contrive the idea that they should make a web-cast to showcase their brilliance.

OK, so where should I begin? Let's start with the laugh track, the oft used but never successful reminder that, we the viewing audience should laugh. According to the foley guys, this show is the funniest thing on the planet. We should all be dropping loads into our pants because of the brilliance of the humor placed before us. The laugh track seriously goes every few seconds. It quite possibly usurps Scooby-doo for the king of laugh track over-use.

Then the in-your-face-shout-at-the-top-of-our-lungs-the-craziest-grouping-of- words-to-seem-silly trick is also employed with little to no success. Whoa and let's not forget creating new words to sound funny trick. That is web-o-licious and poop-tastic? What the hell...

Finally, the acting. I can't entirely complain here. The actors are young and inexperienced, but this should and can be corrected by good professional help. Because of the inexperience nick should be helping the actors define their craft. Instead, in usual nick fashion, the actors are placed in front of the camera and told "act". Which for the most part is robotic recitation of lines, missed timing and overall epic fail.

The lack of anything in this show makes it a disgusting representation of how not to be funny. Don't waste your time. This show is debasing to all of humanity

iCarly captures a not-so-common life of a pre-teen girl perfectly. A smart, witty, funny girl and her best friend Sam have cool life having an awesome hobby (a TV Show), a spacious condo or apartment and her guardian is her 26 year old brother. It is one of those few shows where it's centered around a teenage girl, but guys can relate to it really well especially with the eccentric Spencer and the adorable yet sometimes annoying Freddy. I like iCarly mainly because I am a sucker for 21st century sitcoms and dramas like Drake and Josh and sometimes Zoey 101. Some of them may be girly but I love watching how kids/teens act with everyday things encountering their life. iCarly has a well rounded personality making this the best Nick sitcom in my view.

I miss Drake & Josh...
JayP12910 November 2008
but i'm not saying this show is bad but Drake & Josh was better. Anyways, iCarly is funny, weird, and plain dumb sometimes. Nonetheless, iLove iCarly! With Carly, her best friend Sam, and Freddy, iCarly is a web show that Carly and Sam (Freddy is Tech Producer) perform together to make over 10,000 kids laugh all around the world (or U.S, idk). Carly is the one who comes up the skits, Sam just does what Carly says, and Freddy makes all of the special effects and "RANDOM DANCING!"(LOL). iAm giving this a 6/10 because Drake & Josh were more funny. iGuess Miranda (Carly) just wanted to move on. iHeard this Christmas that Drake & Josh will have it's own Christmas special. But iReccomend iCarly to everyone.

formulaic adorably charming
SnoopyStyle21 January 2017
Carly Shay (Miranda Cosgrove) lives with her older brother Spencer in Seattle while their father is stationed overseas. Sam Puckett (Jennette McCurdy) is her tomboy best friend. Her next door neighbor Freddie Benson (Nathan Kress) is infatuated with her. The three school kids start a web show after being forced to host auditions for a school talent show. It gains popularity and leads to plenty of wacky hijinx.

This is another wacky tween show from uberproducer Dan Schneider. He has almost perfected the formula. He gets charming and energetic kid leads, wacky adults, sweet and nice settings, bright and brash style, and simple sitcom writing. It's a simple formula that works and this particular show works well. The three kids are all adorably charming. There is a wacky brother and a few side characters. There is nothing too edgy. It's a perfectly constructed piece of tween sitcom entertainment although it's not for anybody older.

Miss this show....

I know I'm late to the party on this one, but I miss it. I was planning to write a longer review right now, but thadiusmain took the words right out of my mouth. I love this show for every reason that reviewer said. Back when this was on the air, I was in the worst spot of my life. I was a recent college grad with no job prospects and unemployed. This show was the only thing that could make me smile at that time. I'd watch it to ease my stress and just relax and disappear from the world. Of course, I do remember browsing online job sites while I watched it too, but this show kept me company when I thought the world was against me and I had virtually no self-esteem from being rejected by so many employers, so thank you for the quality entertainment throughout your 5 year run. This show will ALWAYS hold a special place in my heart!

Dumb... A good dumb... A HILARIOUS DUMB!
ryanaustinf3 June 2009
Nickelodeon, good (Drake and Josh), Bad (Doug), Ugly (AHHHH! Real Monsters). It always impressed me. But the turning point began when Spongebob Squarepants first aired. Spongebob is the pivot of the fall of Nickelodeon. First few seasons were awesome, movie was mediocre, after than Spongebob has become Spongebomb. And with Nick's newer shows like El Tigre, Mighty B and Edgar and Ellen, I don't think I'll ever have Nick back. But wait! What about the new Sitcoms! Drake and Josh and the focus of this review, iCarly. Now iCarly is usually looked at as a "girly show." But no, if you're a critic, amateur or professional, you'll watch anything. And at first I thought iCarly was girly but it's for everyone to enjoy! The jokes aren't all about girls, ponies, or any feminine stereotypes. Most of the jokes can be enjoyed by anyone. So we have the main characters, Carly Shay (Miranda Cosgrove), Sam Puckett (Jenette McCurdy), Freddie Benson(Nathan Kress), and Spencer Shay(Jerry Trainor). The funniest characters are Sam and Spencer personally but Carly and Freddie have their moments. Especially in Season 2 when Carly and Freddie became funnier. There really isn't a villain but anyone who tries to shutdown their site. Nevel Papperman (Reed Alexander) is someone who comes to mind in a snap. He's hilarious as well but can get annoying at times. The supporting character is basically Gibby. Gibby is annoying. Every scene he's in he takes his ****ing shirt off. DUDE THAT"S NOT CUTE. IT IS ANNOYING. The comedy here is just hilarious too. Some times it's a silent chuckle but sometimes it's a ROTFLMFAOOL moment. The story is simple. 3 kids make a webshow. They face problems involving or not involving the webshow. OK but the problem is Season 1 had it's charms. Season 2 so far only had a few good episodes. So overall, I give iCarly, a 78% awesome.

My daughter loves this show....and okay, iDo too.
sirguitarist11 May 2008
There is not a lot out there that a guy my age can watch with his 11 year old daughter. Most of prime time network TV is way too adult themed to feel good about letting her watch, and many of the kid shows are just too annoying for my tastes. Along comes iCarly, a show my daughter and I have watched from the beginning. The show is definitely aimed at kids, but there are enough funny moments (often provided by Spencer, played by Jerry Trainor) to keep me interested as well. All of the four main characters (Carly, Sam, Freddy and Spencer) are likable and have good chemistry. You get the feeling that they like each other off the set as well. As the first season is coming to an end, I can only hope they'll continue making more. I recommend this for any Dad (who has a sense of humor and still knows how to be a kid once in a while) to watch with his kid(s).

It's an OK show...kinda unrealistic in some parts...
jlhracer25 July 2008
I do enjoy watching this show. There are parts on this show that are kinda cheesy but still pretty good. Miranda Cosgrove was a good pick for Carly but can get annoying at times. I do like Jeannte McCurdy. She does a great job playing Sam. Jerry Trainor was awesome on Drake and Josh playing 'Crazy Steve' and is really good on this show but however I don't really like Nathan Kress playing Freddie. I just find his acting on this show kinda weak and can get very annoying at times.

but however this show is kinda unrealistic as well. I mean, I don't see how web shows can get 300,000 viewers a week but yet again I have never seen a web show and also there was an episode where the show was turned into a TV show. I found that very unrealistic as chances of that happening in real life is slim to none. and that episode where that shoe company wanted them to advertise their shoes. I don't know how they can get paid $100,000 for doing just that. That's quite a lot of money to advertise on a web show. and last but not least, that biggest fan episode. Well, it's not unrealistic but that girl was so da** annoying!

Overall, I find this show pretty funny. Like said just moments ago, it can be very unrealistic but it's just a show. 6/10.

Warning: Spoilers
I... No words. No words can describe this. I will try for the sake of those few brave people who stick knives into their toasters... after watching this show.

This... Cosgrove person... Her acting is like watching a female gorilla dance upon the nest of highly agitated insects. Perhaps I exaggerate. However, I have a feeling that the description fits a regular day of writing this show.

The characters in this repulsive pile of raw sewage are as useless as a small piece of space rock that flies into the sun on any day of the week. Though heart attacks have not been experienced while watching them act like fools on the cheaply built sets, I have no doubt that it will happen eventually.

The main plot of this *belches loudly into the faces of the actors* is that of a foolish girl who hosts a live weekly web-cast on the creatively titled iCarly.com with her brainless friends, one of which owns equipment that the producers of this show probably couldn't afford. Her legal guardian is some kind of moron who is apparently her older brother.

I haven't watched all of this show for fear of developing cancer, or perhaps a cold, but some of the plot points I have seen involve the brother getting stuck in an elevator, the doorman of the apartment almost dieing, and the world's fattest priest coming for a visit. No, really.

Avoid this if you are over the age of unborn or if you have a history of joining mysterious cults due to mental trauma. If you do decide to watch it, laugh when the laugh-track tells you to, as this will drown out the repetitive noise that will eventually put you in a coma if you listen to it for too long.

The show receives a one star rating because the IMDb inexplicably has not adopted the use of negative numbers.

Funny as ever

OK so you have this girl, Carly, living with her artistic brother Spencer. Carly has a best friend named Sam, when they are forced into doing their schools auditions for the talent show they see that a lot of their class mates have awesome talents. So long story short they start up some webisodes called "iCarly" were they host many wonderful and yet random talented people. This is all done with the help of Carly's annoying neighbor, Freddie, who also has a crush on Carly.

Anyway the show is a hit that is watched by thousands of people. Personally though, I think that Jerry Trainor that plays Spencer steels the show. His random lines and insane attitude makes me crack up so much. For instance in the first episode Carly asks him to lend her his camera but he can't because he made it into a squirrel.

Overall it's fun and cool and I recommend it to everyone,

A Captivating Teenage Series
RECB320 August 2023
This is a terrific series. I truly believe that this series was what really began and lifted teenage series, and inspired other series like Victorious, Henry Danger, and others. I finally watched the whole series when I was in my late twenties, and a couple of episodes made me teary. This series revealed multiple themes and the nature of the life of a teenager. It focuses on reality in order for viewers to watch and learn. Viewers easily can gain a clear perspective of the challenges of the particular age group.

I enjoyed watching this series. I experienced multiple emotions throughout the series. I learned and understood more about the image that the series is sending to the viewers. The cast really connected to the storyline. It allows them to learn about themselves as well.

Warning: Spoilers
It seems that Nickelodeon has chosen to copy Disney and make a bunch of preppy "sitcoms" to make kids feel like they're watching "grown-up shows" like Seinfeld or Friends. Watching a single episode of this show will quickly prove otherwise.

As usual, the concept of the show is actually pretty good, but the delivery is just god-awful. It's all about a girl and her friends making a webshow. Something almost always goes wrong and threatens to cancel the webshow. Carly and her friends must band together to keep it running. All with a healthy dose of humor. So, what could possibly go wrong with such a great concept? Surprisingly, a lot.

There is no humor in this show. At all. Sure, there may have been a time or two where I chuckled a bit, but that is the height of this show's comedic genius. They don't use a live audience and for good reason. You couldn't pay people to laugh at this. But for some reason, the guy who's in charge of the "canned laughter" button seems to get some kind of sexual thrill from pressing it over and over and over again. Literally, after every single sentence, the laugh track is played. The jokes ARE NOT FUNNY! Sam's "prison" escapade jokes are not funny. Spencer setting things on fire is not funny. Carly and Spencer's strange way of talking to each other is not funny. Saying "no chiz" is NOT funny. And the webshow. Oh, the WEBSHOW! I will tell my grandkids horror stories about that god-awful, satanic webshow.

Others have already commented about the "cheapness" of the show and I have to wholeheartedly agree. I could spend $50 making a movie and still make it look better than this. First, like Disney, they use maybe 2-3 sets for the entire duration of the show. But when they have to make a new one, God forbid they actually use some of that multi-million dollar budget to make a decent set. It looks like something straight out of an elementary school play. Just terrible.

I won't criticize the acting too much since they're just kids and I probably couldn't do much better. But when the adults act just as bad, you know something's wrong. I actually don't blame the actors themselves. It's the convoluted scenarios they force the actors to portray. All I know is, they better be paying these actors truckloads, because they essentially lose all of their acting credentials just from being associated with this show.

Lastly, the webshow. It is the worst thing that has ever happened to children's entertainment. Period. Sitting through one of these is like sitting through 10 Fred videos. (Incidentally, there was an episode when Fred appeared on the show. For the sake of my sanity and yours, I will not mention details of it here.) Apparently, SOMEONE on the production team thought this was a good idea and NOBODY bothered to criticize him. If there was any doubt as to the childishness of this show, watching one of these will remove all doubt. A 5-year-old would cringe at it.

Nick, what have you become? You used to have great cartoons. But now that you have become a Disney clone, I have no choice but to vent and make this review about how stupid you are. Burn in hell!
