James Avalon during his Red Light District phase, directed this "comeback" vehicle for the great Chasey Lain. He did her proud stylistically, but for us story line Adult Features fans it's lacking that now-elusive beastie: narrative content.
I was glad to watch it, because it explains the current U-turn of Avalon's storied career, where much of his output, shot on an accelerated schedule all of a sudden, consists of mindless all-sex features. Just watch any of his recent Erotica X releases and you'll see what I mean.
Things go easier without a script, and such is "Reloaded"'s format. Six extremely stylized vignettes, mostly with Chasey but some without to pad the running time, unfold with nary a theme or logic to motivate them. Avalon's strategy is to show us lovely sexual couplings, and the eroticism, nay "chemistry", of the performers is all that really matters to the target viewer.
The first two exercises have wonderful lighting plus a smoky set to give a fantasy tinge to basic humping. "The Schoolgirl" has the fabulous Lindsey Meadows in the title assignment, tormented by Chasey in near dominatrix fashion that is far more erotic than the thousands of lookalike all-lesbian videos of recent years.
In vignette #2 titled "Asian invasion", Christina Aguchi in fetish gear is serviced buy Eric Masterson, dropping his usual comedy self (this is pantomime, without dialog after all), and doing a fine job, bareback style.
Other segments follow the same format, notably "Girls in Bikinis" with Chasey and Daisy by a pool having a threesome with Isabella Sky, delivering a d.p. using 2 dildos. Finale "Under the Palms" is the show's romantic highlight, as Chasey outdoors at night gets the full treatment by Christian XXX in a moody, wistful sequence that would have fit well into one of those old Adam & Eve romantic epics, had a story been concocted to contain it.
Alas, Chasey's comeback did not amount to much, not generating even a fraction of the interest her "real movies" did a decade or so before. Last seen popping up in a routine Filly Films lesbian assignment, her days in the spotlight were over.
