A role in this movie was traded for a house to complete the Red Paperclip Project. The Town of Kipling, Saskatchewan bartered for the role. According to the Project site, Kipling set up an "American Idol style" auditions for the role in a film to be shot by Public Media Works. The Auditions were held over the Labor Day long weekend in which 3500 people competed for the role. Corbin Bernsen was there to announce the winner and Nolan Hubbard was the lucky guy who got the role.
