- Concerned for Vicki because of her conflict between Mike Celluci and Henry Fitzroy, Coreen consults her psychic reader, Madame Andrea. Madame A isn't sure that she can read for Vicki through Coreen, but she agrees to try. When the reading begins to involve blood, Coreen is startled but Madame A assures her that things have changed. She then asks for Coreen's hands. Suddenly, there is an obvious transfer from Madame A to Coreen. It is Astaroth, now possessing Coreen's body. At that exact same moment, the pentacles on Vicki's arms burst into flames. That in itself is enough to warn Vicki that something is up.
When Coreen doesn't report in for the next five hours, Vicki goes through her appointment book and notices an 11 AM appointment with Madame Andrea, so she goes to see her. Madame A reveals only that Vicki will shortly be hearing about Coreen and adds that she is waiting for her own reward, so Vicki gives Madame A the first installment...right to the jaw. Using Kate Lam's badge number, Vicki calls the dispatcher asking whether there have been any recent disturbances involving a goth chick. There's been a report of a disturbance at Club Vinyl, so Vicki calls Mike and asks him to meet her there. Mike is in the middle of a briefing about a high-profile kidnapping, but he agrees to go to the club when he finds out thatit involves Coreen. Vicki then gets in touch with Henry, and they hurry over to the club. They find Coreen pole dancing on stage. When they rush the stage and try to knock Astaroth out of Coreen's body, the audience thinks the melee is all part of the act, and they get cheered on. Mike arrives just as Henry manages to knock Coreen out cold.
They take Coreen to Henry's apartment and handcuff her to the bed. While Mike babysits, Henry and Vicki go to a local soup kitchen where Henry asks his friend, Father Ray Cascioli, to perform an exorcism. At first, Cascioli refuses, but he eventually agrees. Mike being alone with him, Astaroth tries to cut a deal with him. He allows Mike to glimpse the whereabouts of the kidnap victim, a young girl named Hannah Tang. In return, Astaroth asks Mike to simply place another pillow under Coreen's head. Just as Mike is about to obey, Vicki, Henry, and Cascioli return. Cascioli immediately begins the exorcism. Astaroth retaliates by spiriting away Coreen's heart. Then he makes a deal with Vicki: if she can find Coreen's heart, Astaroth will let her put it back into Coreen's chest. Cascioli warns Vicki that it's a trick, but Vicki is resolved to take that chance. Although Mike also thinks it's hopeless, he agrees to help her look for it. They go back to Mike's office to find the whereabouts of the cabbie that took Coreen from Madame Andrea's to Club Vinyl so that they might find out what Coreen did during the five hours it took her to get from one place to the other. While there, Mike is confronted by Chief Crowley. She is livid at him for walking out of the briefing and demands that he turn in his badge and gun, pending formal dismissal. "You're through, Celluci," Crowley says and walks away.
Meanwhile, Astaroth is taunting Henry with promises to make him mortal again if he will aid his unholy cause, which is to get Vicki to open the gates so that his entire body can bridge the gap between hell and earth. Henry makes him a counter offer if Astaroth will agree to release his hold on Vicki, but Astaroth refuses. When Vicki and Mike get back with the address of the cabbie, Mike and Henry go looking for him while Vicki stays with Coreen. Now alone with Vicki, Astaroth restores her eyesight for a brief moment, then promises to give it back to her forever if she will help him get free from hell.
Back at the cabbie garage, Henry uses his mind control to get the cabbie to remember Coreen and the places he took her...the Bombay club for tandoori chicken and then to the bus station. When she came back out of the station, he says, she looked a bit weird. She said that she had man trouble, that she'd lost her heart. That's the clue that tells Mike and Henry that Coreen's heart might be found at the bus station, so they head over. Suddenly, Mike has an idea. He asks Henry to do his mind thing on him so as to make him remember the vision he had of Hannah Tang. Henry evokes the memory in Mike, and Mike can see clearly that she's being held in a crypt near a headstone with the name "Garth Malagrine" on it. He immediately phones in that information to his partner Kate.
At the bus station, Henry uses his superhearing to detect a heart beat inside one of the lockers. He breaks open the door and, sure enough, there is Coreen's heart beating away. Mike places the heart in a Debbie Meyer green bag and takes it back to Coreen. Vicki replaces the heart in Coreen's chest, and Father Cascioli begins the exorcism. Suddenly, Cascioli is thrown from the bed. When he gets up from the floor, it's obvious that Astaroth is now in Cascioli's body and that Coreen's heart, while in her chest, is not beating. Henry rushes at Astaroth, but Astaroth runs Henry's sword through his chest, pinning him to the floor. He knocks out Mike, and then he makes Vicki another offer. She can use her pentagrams to send him back to hell or to save Coreen. Vicki chooses to save Coreen. Triumphant, Cascioli leaves the room. "See you later, Vicki," he says.
Epilogue: Mike regains consciousness; Vicki pulls the sword from Henry's chest and releases the handcuffs on Coreen. Mike gets a call from Kate telling him that Hannah has been found right where he said she would be. Henry points out to Vicki that it's not safe for her in Toronto and asks her to come with him to Vancouver. Tearfully, Vicki tells him that, ever since she met him, she's wanted to say YES but that she can't just run away. Mike overhears Vicki and realizes that he's lost out to Henry. "He's your problem now," Mike tells Vicki. Mike begins to walk away but turns back and plants a wet one on her lips. Then he leaves, slamming the door behind him. Vicki starts to follow, but Henry tells her to let him go. "You've got 40 lifetimes ahead of you," Vicki replies, the tears now flowing profusely, "but he's only got one, and I screwed it all up. I have to try to make it right." "So be it," says Henry as he walks out, slamming the door behind him. Vicki cries.
