More of the same - not bad, nothing great
Sabalon26 July 2008
This is pretty much another Onryo story. It wasn't that bad and did have some interesting points and plot turns, but in the end, it felt like Dark Water without all the interesting bits.

My daughter came upstairs while I was watching it and as I was trying to explain to her about the concept of Asian horror and vengeful spirits, it made me realize that this movie had bits of everything that had been done before and was pretty much just another cookie-cutter style movie.

The story, while vanilla, still had enough to keep one interested in what was going on. A couple of very predictable jump scenes here and there.

Warning: Spoilers
In Chinese tradition the number four is considered an unlucky number because they relate it with death. So they sometimes skip it! A woman and her child move into an apartment building where there is no fourth floor… or is it?

Strange things starts happening and strange deaths occur. There are noises coming from beneath that can't be explained and people are not what they seem to be. They all seem to be related with the old building and the apartment 404 which is now 504. Nobody seems to care to find what really happened in the past or what is happening now.

In overall is not a bad movie and the acting is not that bad either. The story is interesting and keeps you interested in the movie as it goes. I think you should give this movie a chance and enjoy it, is not hat bad!

Incredibly boring and slow paced...

When I was given the chance to sit down and watch this 2006 South Korean horror movie, of course I jumped at the chance to do so. Why? Well, simply because I love Asian cinema and horror movies.

Now, I hadn't heard about "Four Horror Tales: Hidden Floor" (aka "Nebeonjjae cheung") prior to 2020 when I had the chance to sit down and watch it, so I didn't know what I was in for, nor did I have any expectations from writer Il-han Yoo and director Ho-Young Kwon.

Turns out that this movie was a massive swing and a miss for me. The movie just failed to entertain me, and there was very little of any worth to be had in the movie. In fact, I didn't even manage to finish the movie. I just gave up on it out of sheer and utter boredom.

The movie had fair enough acting performances, but the storyline and script was just downright boring and uneventful. Which ultimately lead to a very slow paced and dull movie experience.

I have no interest in returning to watch the rest of this movie, as it simply didn't was worth it in my opinion. I am rating "Four Horror Tales: Hidden Floor" a mere two out of ten stars.
