- Every year, the inhabitants of the castle celebrate the feast of the Krokoldezen. Nobody really knows who or what the Krokoldezen were, but everyone has to dress up and act like one. If they don't, the castle will collapse... In the meantime, Kulderzipken gets another difficult task to accomplish...—Anonymous
- Most countries have obscure traditions, but in king Jozef's realm the very constitution (held to be always 'true', however nonsensical) prescribes the annual "Ball of the Krokoldeze", stating the castle will crumble unless everybody dresses up, sings and dances on one leg like Krokoldeze, although nobody has the vaguest notion who they might be, let alone what their dress, dance and anthem would be, so everybody just wings it. Meanwhile the king accepts a suggestion for a new dare to get rid of Kulderzipken -eating within one hour an impossible list of food items- from the devil who hoped to please his mother, but when she hits him and even miniaturizes his violin for trying too hard by kicking the king, he trots to the bumpkin who cleverly finds a way out...—KGF Vissers
