  [His words distract Sullivan, who accidentally sends a billiard ball flying through the air to land in Lord Guinness's lap. Lord Guinness laughs] 

  Sullivan : [rattled]  And what, may I ask, is so amusing?

  Guinness : You are, Mr Sullivan. As you say, the scoundrel is in hiding, but to think that he's still in London is absurd.

  Sullivan : Then where is he, Lord Guinness? Perhaps you can tell me?

  Guinness : It's been over twenty-four hours since he robbed your bank, Sullivan, so he's had plenty of time to leave the country.
