Low budget, low quality
fisherbee1-111 September 2010
Starts VERY slowly, with a lot of wasted time on scenery passing a car. Virtually no background on the characters, and what little we do hear is very vague, and less than informative. The main characters do manage to portray a little emotion from time to time, but with next to nothing to support it, the effort is almost wasted. The plot, such as it is, is weak, and doesn't progress far enough, or fast enough, to hold the attention of viewers. The "action" is almost nonexistent, the possibilities for suspense wasted or ignored, and the resolution as dull as the rest of the film. Add to this at least three real goofs: at one point a crew member can be seen ducking behind the main characters. Soon after, a camera, microphone, or some piece of equipment is seen to the right. A little later, there are repeated shots with some sort of wire or cable across part of a dock, where nothing of the sort should be. I could deal with low budget, and even such goofs, if there was more meat to the story. All in all, it was like watching something put together for a school project. With a better storyline, and a little more attention to detail, the producers might come up with something worthwhile.

So much potential, but it fails......
tewslayer20094 February 2011
Warning: Spoilers
This movie could have been really awesome, but as it is it was very weak. The movie starts with introducing (and I use that term lightly) the 2 main characters, Joe and Jane. While following their vehicle down the road for awhile, we learn that they are separating. Also during this time we see that a van of some kind is in front of them with the camera, because we see the window, but that is acceptable being a Indie. There are some goofs along the way as we watch the two reconcile bit by bit, and also notice that a man that Joe had almost hit with his car earlier is following them. The storyline is good, the acting great (in my opinion) but when we get to the end, its plain weak. After holding Joe and Jane kinda hostage in their cabin (which I find highly unlikely seeing as how Joe is larger than Bep, and Bobby seems to be mentally handicap, but I digress) and it shows slowly that both Bep and Bobby believe Joe and Jane to be their parents. After a little rough housing and making Joe state things their father said to Bep, they drag Joe out and Jane states that she is sorry that their family hurt them. We then cut to the next day, Jane wakes up and walk outside and finds that Joe is in a boat in the water. She yells to wake him and he rows the boat over and they hug and the movie ends. If it had not been for the ending, this movie would have gotten at least a 7. But, as it stands, a lowly 3 is all it gets from me. The director needs to work on the suspense more and less on following cars around. And please check your footage while editing so that crew and equipment aren't in your shots, and you might actually make really good pictures.

Avoid At All Costs
blcklotus1521 February 2009
This movie is awful in a bad way. Some movies are so bad, they're funny. This movie takes everything you can do poorly in a film to the worst level possible. It seems like it was filmed with a bargain bin hand-held camera, and recorded on a tape recorder with a condenser mic. The story is even worse, given no background on any characters, except that the main couple is having marriage troubles (this is made known very early on). It would be insulting the call the acting mediocre, because that word implies something better than what I saw. Viewers will be left with absolutely no story, and without a story, no resolution to the events seen in the movie. I call these "events" because there seems to be no logic in the flow of this film.

Ugggh!

Warning: Spoilers
After watching them drive for 10 minutes (seemed like 20) and slowly talk to each other I was already wondering how soon they would be attacked. For 30 minutes they drove, and drove, stopping at a store and a few lakes, seemingly trying to decide which one they will be murdered at (or was that just me hoping...). The couple's conversations were so dry and there was an uncomfortable lag between their replies to each other. I was passively watching this with my daughter and she was writhing in mental anguish at the overt monotony this move exuded, slowly building (coasting?) to an anti-climactic ending. Watch this only if you desperately need something to make fun of.

Horrible movie
crestfallen998210 August 2014
Warning: Spoilers
This movie is only 70 minutes but feels much much longer than that. The first portion of the film moves so excruciatingly slow that you are actually hoping for the crazy morons to come just to speed the movie up.

The couple in this movie are so bland and boring. For example she's having a heart to heart conversation with him and he's out looking at everything but her. What a complete douche bag.

When the two crazy brothers finally do something, the sound quality isn't that great and it's hard to understand what the bald guy is saying.

The two crazy weirdos kept them captive for a few hours I suppose...which is quite disturbing, but then just leave the next morning. The wife wakes up and her husband is in a boat. she calls out to him and he rows his boat to her and they embrace..and then it ends. The two crazy brothers don't get killed or arrested or anything. What a waste of an ending and a waste of a movie.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE

Terrible Beyond Belief
michael-daniels-8452124 January 2018
Warning: Spoilers
This movie is so bad I cannot express enough what utter drivel this is! Are we expected to believe that an educated muscular guy over 6 feet tall 200 lbs is unable to deal with what looks like two skinny inbreds that look like they should be waiting tables in MacDonald's? It's absolutely ridiculous and the acting is deplorable. The whole thing looks like it's be filmed on a smartphone. The camerawork is amateurish without any direction. The awful excuse for a movie is pathetic!

Who am I
nogodnomasters29 January 2018
Warning: Spoilers
This is the worse home invasion film I have ever seen, including the ones with Eric Robert and those in languages I don't understand. Joe (James Tupper) and Jane (Kit Pongetti) are having some marriage issues as they drive to their upstate NY Lake cabin. Top of their marriage problems appears to be communication. We later find out that Joe reminds her too much of her father who just passed on, someone who was never there for her and blah blah blah.

Then they are terrorized in their home by two mouth breathers who claim they know her from childhood. People she can't remember. Now at this point they could have really twisted the plot...had they planted some earlier clues, but they chose not to do so. They other thing I can think of is that these intruders were symbolic of their communication and or marriage issue, which made the film "understandable", but not any more enjoyable. Consider this your warning.

Parental Guide: F-bombs. No sex or nudity. Joe and Jane in their undergarments. Jane getting forcefully groped. Go watch something with Eric Roberts instead.

Bio: James Tupper has a love child with Anne Heche. Kit Pongetti sings in a band.

Invisible, while technically poor, has worthwhile artistic qualities
daniel-61112 November 2012
I rated the film higher than it deserved because there's more to a film than its technical qualities. The story I found the opposite of a typical movie of romantic love. It delved in to the seedy underbelly of it all. It was about two people's tragic missteps into the demise of love. At some point though, they're confronted with two real life psychotics who, through recollection of their own perverse tragic history, and while threatening the lives of our lost couple, propel them into an odd awakening. The last moment of the film is crucial to see in the right light. In addition to its technical shortcoming, where I think the movie fails is in it's failure to get inside the main character's heads to the degree necessary to convey that their torturers are in league with their own emotional strife. Some imagery, including flashbacks, could have helped.
