A very good episode, plenty of suspense and shocking turns in the plot, only Carl, Barnabas, Quentin and Trask appear.
A reprise of the scene in #779 where Carl escapes the secret room. Quentin and Trask have a quick scene before Quentin leaves. Carl, as usual on the brink of hysteria, tells Trask that Barnabas is a vampire and invites him to come to the secret room where his coffin lies.
Barnabas rises from his coffin, Quentin is there. Barnabas bares his fangs but Quentin stops him by telling him he knows that he is his only help.
Carl returns to Collinwood. In the best scene Barnabas' voice is heard and he suddenly appears in a corner. Barnabas strangles Carl to death.
Quentin finds Carl's body and Barnabas leaves. Trask arrives and Carl's body falls from behind a curtain.
Trask goes to the old house confronts Barnabas with a crucifix. He tells of what he knows, and says he will believe he is innocent if he stays with him until dawn.
