Not a Soda Stereo song
Mariana Cornejo24 September 2007
Warning: Spoilers
This movie almost begins with Madonna's song "This used to be my playground". Plutarco Haza gathers in his house all of his friends from childhood in a banquet. Everything is so casual that you know that something lies beneath. This story, which develops in a slowly manner, could be a good play in any theater, but here you will have to wait, and wait, and wait (maybe that the sexy Zugely Ibarra takes off her clothes-but no, this is not that kind of movie, nor the tone of it) and finally the whole movie gets in motion by the last ten minutes of it. Whether if it worth the wait it's up to you to decide. The cast works well as an assemble but Gabriela Canudas has one of her STRONGEST performances since Otilia Rauda. And Roberto Sosa, among the others, could make an outstanding part in sarcasm and black humor but this chance is lost in the tragic tone of the whole film. There are direct references to "Festen". This is the first party movie since "El llanto de la tortuga", hope is not the last.
